That would fuck off Southampton.

I can imagine that.

Levy: Sorry about Mane. But we have this shiny foreheaded winger. Yours for a mere £15m. Or, you chuck us a French midfielder, I'll give you a fiver and chuck in the winger for free.

Southampton: Fuck off.

You could say Salzburg's dominance of the Austrian league is even bigger than Bayern's dominance of the Bundesliga.

They have scored 27 goals in 7 games this season and scored 110 in 36 games last season. Brutal.

It's true, and Mane is at the forefront of that production with a more than 0.5 per game scoring ratio since his arrival in 2012.

He is the kind of player as with Depay, that if we don't bite now we won't ever have a chance again. At 22, he wasn't going to be at Salzburg for long.

Austrian League yes, but he was also brilliant and one of the best players in previous season's Europa League.

If this is Levy's tactic to get Southampton to play ball, I approve.

If it's just a young, pacy, talented winger that Poch wants to replace Lennon, I also approve.

No Welbeck I wonder?

I still think that one's possible. Welbeck is better at striker anyway, and it's not as if ours are entirely consistent, and our one closest to being so may be gone for a month this season.

If we can get rid of both Lennon and Townsend, I could see Welbeck and this cat being brought in as the two new wingers. Good deal if possible, plus Welbeck can give cover at CF.

I just watched a 10 minute youtube video of him and he still looks shite

Who would you have? Ideally I'd have preferred a few other targets myself, but this player is of the unique breed we specifically need, and today highlighted it. We have no one with the combination of pace and technicality to pin an opposition back and induce their gameplan, and the top sides do. We can't push them off of us, and don't have the players to induce our own.

He is a missing piece of the puzzle if we're to compete, as we cannot continue to rely on individual quality to get us by the mid and lower table sides.

This is what we need though...someone who can commit and take on defenders and make things happen.

Both JJ and Gards have intimated that we are hoping to sign both a striker and left wing forward tomorrow. So maybe this guy is seen as the LWF and Welbeck as the Striker...?
