No but I'd play Lamela wide and use 3 CM's so he'd be rotating with Eriksen and Paulinho for the more attacking CM spot in the CM3. Holtby would play the link role. I think he's better than Paulinho in the final 3rd so I don't like him going
Unfair for him to be a rotation player at this stage of his career. He needs first team football and we can't offer him that.

What the fuck did we do to this guy?

Actually watch this vid and think how often we got him on the ball in these positions (instead of giving him the ball at the halfway line on the extreme left)

It's a spurs thing!! Also we don't play fast flowing passing football like we bloody well should.

Under AVB, we never had that much space in the final 3rd and under Sherwood he was playing either in the left or in the CM 2 of a 4-4-2. He could work well in a 4-2-3-1 if we move the ball quickly but also have better options.

He's a good, skillful player, but in our side we've got a better version of him in Eriksen. We can't play both and he's not going to show his talent in fleeting glimpses.

He's still better than Palace mind.

Its a nice goal - but you know who helped make it happen - Defoe making the run just before the shot caused the defender to drop off Siggy instead of close down on him - unsung hero doing things that don't get picked up on the scoresheet imo.

It's what we've seriously lacked the last two years by playing withdrawn wingers instead of genuine wide forwards. Rather than having just a single striker being able to do that you have three. Need to get the wide-men playing off the striker more this year.

Defoe is a strange one though, I never really rated his movement but you look back at old vids and it's great

Look again, the CB moves backwards before Defoe's run.

Problem is he either scores miracle goals like that or is completely invisible for 5 games in a row.

He also doesn't score enough goals to justify a first team placement seeing as he doesn't provide assists or any playmaking ability.

Scored some absolute belters but does not contribute anywhere near enough to a high level team. Good business to break even on him, good move for him to get regular game time. A win-win transfer

I like Siggy, but I think he's expendable. I would like to make a profit off him instead of just breaking even, though.

Also, how do we know he is off? Because Sky Sources say so? The infamous sky sources? I'll wait till Palace, Spurs, or the ITK's confirm.

Wtf Siggy is nothing like Eriksen, they are as polar opposite as you can be playing in the same area of the pitch.

I suppose they both like to take free kicks, just like every other player

I think he was referring to the fact they play the same two positions.

I apologize, but I'm afraid I just don't understand why. Highly ineffective on the left wing, especially in defense and yet furthermore against the other top six, and non-contributory as a CAM. He scores some great goals, but other than that I just do not understand any tangible rationale for any affinity for this player.

I know he hasn't performed yet for us, but for some reason I just have this feeling that he would come good for us.
