Lamela should not be played on the left, its his weakest position across the three and we wouldn't be making the most of his skills. Maybe after he has adjusted to the PL and the squad then play him on the left for the odd game if needed but if we want him to adapt we need to play him in a position he feels more comfortable in first.

Would he be getting a start at City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd or even Liverpool.. The answer is a clear NO.

Well Liverpool really wanted him.

There's lots of Utd players over the years who have played a part in their title winning teams that wouldn't have got into our first team.

I never understand this argument. Siggy currently fits quite well into our team and is our joint top league scorer. He is effective for us. I couldn't care less if Utd want him.

Siggy's should not be in the starting XI IMO BUT what he does do is get you goals when you need him to. Think back to last season where he scored against Chelsea to make it 2-2, against Basel to make it 2-2, the goal against West Ham to make it 2-2.
Then, this season he scored the goals to ensure a win against Norwich.

So basically play him when you are 2-1 down and he will score...
Only joking but he is kind of like a super-sub in my eyes.

Exactly. If you flip the question and ask how many of those squads would he get in, then you get a completely different answer.

Well then he better be prepared for a long stint on the bench. Cant see him edging out the current incumbents of his favoured positions any time soon.

I don't think he's all that. And he doesn't work that hard either, he just runs like a newborn Calf.

I'd say he does try to do his defensive duties, but his 'hard work' doesn't really achieve anything. He tries to get back in and help out but because he runs like he is wading through quicksand he just about gets within the vicinity of a player to close him down but never quite gets there to make things difficult for the opposing player.

You've changed. You're one of them now.

I think people need to take their blinkers off.

Just because he doesn't have the pace of Lennon/Townsend etc, this doesn't mean he isn't an effective wide player.

His return this season so far has been brilliant and is a huge improvement on Dempsey.

He retains possession; more often than not hits the target when shooting; and also provides good cover for whichever defensively lacking fullback is behind him.

And he does work hard, for anybody to suggest otherwise is just hating for the sake of it.

I don't hate him at all, just don't think he's all that. He's the most overrated of our players since dear old Pav.

Stop it.

He practically is Dempsey. Slightly more cultured version, but is Dempsey. Contributes little to the game, has one redeeming feature that he will get in the box and get a decent goal tally each season.
