These players are just arrogant. Seen this performance under many different managers now to think anything different

It’s becoming pretty obvious how weak our right side is.
Spence has to play. He's not going to be worse than Emerson and yet he's quicker. Not an insult to Conte, but TBH it's really a no-brainer kind of decision. He keeps shouting at Emerson at every game and yet he's starting every one as well.

Yep, Kane and Son are flat track bullies, sure in some ‘bigger games’ they have turned up against city and arsenal etc but they’ve also both been very poor in a lot of big games, perhaps they’re slightly overrated.

As you say a KDB etc has one off game in 10, Kane and Son have them mabye 3 or 4 out of every 10.

They need to do more but that is also why I think we need still a good 1-2 more quality attacking options
Thing with kane in particular it’s so tough for him. Under mourinho he was the creator always dropping deep and scoring a fair few screamers and his stats echoed that. Then as soon as conte came in he was told to stick up top and he again showed what he could do, im sure he was overall top scorer in the league since january onwards. Now he shows half conviction in doing either of those jobs. Add to that he has no service to him. Yes he should be doing better but i kind of feel sorry for him as our team is lacking goals and creativity so he is trying to do both but failing at both tasks as he is all over the place.

son on the other hand has been woeful since the start of the season, his touch, runs etc all off form. Only thing i do like about him are his corners which look half decent.

disagree.

We worked the ball into good areas but then the final pass or crucial touch was dreadful.

Son spent the entirety refusing to run at anyone. Kulsevski came on and did that immediately.

Kane cannot play at that standard if he wants to be recognised as elite level.

We are passive at times but we certainly pushed onto them at the start and certain stages.

How many times did Perisic or Emerson fluff a cross?

When they did put good ones in, Kane and Son are nowhere to be found.
Agree with this

I am actually happier with the performance in a 2-0 loss tonight than I was in the 2-0 win against Marseille

For an away CL tie against a decent footballing side who had beaten the Europa League holders 3-0 a couple of weeks back we took the game to them. We played some slick football through the middle at times and it was the front 3 and the WB's that let us down with final balls and finishing. Their 2 goals and Edwards's Maradona moment aside we were completely comfortable

Since our forwards have rescued us in otherwise dull performances this season I don't feel too worried about it (Kane and Son's general form aside - neither are near their best)

Ditched it at 70 minutes.

I’ve watched far too many of these gutless, boring and monotonous European away performances over the last 5+ years to even get bothered about it now.

Let’s see what gets served up at the weekend!

Mate what has last season got to do with anything.
The team right now is not functioning and the signings in key areas still have not been addressed.
Maybe they will pick up but we are so so lucky that we have not played a really good side tonight because it could have been carnage.
It’s largely the same starting 11 as when we were battering teams.
Chill out Shelfy and have some more Sangria!

Yes. But what would you rather watch this or peak poch?

Conte is an amazing manager. I just find us incredibly dull to watch.
Now this is fair , I ? agree with comparisons and in that one peak poch wins hands down, BUT remember who beat peak poch to the title?.. CONTE.

We’ve had the sexy football and didn’t get over the line, we now have a manger who imo produces a balanced style of play not boring but not super exciting and he’s a top3 world class manager in his prime who wins wherever he goes, I’m fully fully behind it.

Also Conte has been here not even a year yet and he inherited a mess, yet we are now in the CL and 2nd in the league…give him more time and more backing and the performances will get a bit more easy on the eye and the results will get even better.

Conte’s tactics are fine imo (although his European record is a concern), BUT his tactics need players if more quality to make it a bit more entertaining.

Imagine if we swapped out of this team:
Davies
Emerson
PEH
And put in Super Jan, Walker and Dembele or Eriksen… we’d look a completely different side.

For the next game it's not as radical as it sounds imo. Adds to collective responsibility whilst reducing the individual burden and damages confidence less (especially that of Son).

Lloris
Romero Dier Lenglet
Spence --------------- Sess
Bentancur ---- Bissouma
Kulu --Richy--Lucas

Perisic for Moura but did consider something similar just to give the established dynamic duo a kick up the arse!

Won't happen in a month of Sunday's though....

Spot on… Emerson put it across the six yard box no one on end

I’m surprised Conte didn’t bring on Sessegnon and Doherty or Spence as Perisic wasn’t at it and Emerson imploded.

He must have been happy with a point and keeping the players fresh ahead of Leicester.

I think we’ll see Lenglet, Sessegnon, Doherty, Bissouma and Kulusevski all starting at the weekend.
I genuinely hope you’re right but show me any evidence that Conte has ever made wholesale changes since he’s been here.

If I’m honest I’m glad this wake up call came in this game and not the league. We have enough games to still qualify and top the group.
I want us to really make some headway with the league. Liverpool look off it this season, we could really make a challenge.
Big bounce back against Leicester on Saturday needed

Another pedestrian performance. We seem to play as though if we just turn up, round around a lot the opposition will gift us chances. Beaten by a dude who wanted to win and like the end of the West Ham game looked to have tired before the opponents. Our luck ran out today

I bet some of the lads must be chuckling at our group stages opponents over the last few season of European games and think we can easily win despite all the PR bullshit that every teams are difficult.
