Welcome to the Spurs Vs Leicester Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

Not sure I see any difference from this weekend to next weekend. Still a state of mourning seeing there was some fear that some fans might be disrespectful. A day or 2 before funeral very unlikely to happen imo. They should have played this weekend and called next weekend off as mark of respect.

With the amount of stuff going on today and people Turing up at the palace all needing police presence, this weekend was never going to happen once she past away.

With everyone likely descending on London next weekend, I wonder if they could reverse some fixtures to allow them to go ahead, I.e Lei v Spurs, Liv v Chelsea. Only unavoidable London fixture is Brentford v Arsenal, but would so many police be required at This game. Lower league London games may still have to be postponed but easier for them to catch up than the PL.

No train strike so Bri v Palace can be reinstated.

Probably not likely but it’s one way next weekend could go ahead.

That was off because of a train strike??

Wow, way to let them win by striking.

My feeling is respect-wise this will more than likely go ahead. It’s going to be the policing that’s an issue right across the country as everyone will be moved down to London

they have said sporting events scheduled at the same time as the funeral should consider moving it so it doesn’t clash.

They have to make a decision soon though, not much they could do about this weekend but they give people a weeks notice it makes things a lot easier

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport confirmed to football.london that their guidance given before the Premier League's decision to postpone games would not change. "Our guidance will stay the same. There's no obligation to cancel as far as far as the government is concerned. But it's ultimately up to the Premier League and EFL to make those decisions."

The Met Police also told football.london that: "Whether matches go ahead is a matter for the football authorities. If fixtures do take place, the Met will work with the relevant partners and ensure that appropriate policing plans are in place."

Sounds like it might be ok

The PL have to be realistic about fixture congestion

Yeah I think they'll go ahead. The fact that the MET are saying they'll work with the PL if fixtures go ahead is a good sign.

So it looks like policing resources will be OK to handle the games.

I guess it comes down to the footballing authorities in terms of whether they think a small minority might ruin a minutes silence?

Is that the issue?

I think this will go ahead. The PL jumped the gun this time around, and with the rugby and cricket going ahead today with nice tribute’s, I can see next weekends games going ahead.

I doubt it. If it were there'd never be a minutes silence again. I guess they have the option of a minutes applause but if they go with silence (and in my opinion they should) then the fans of the club who disrespect that are going drag their club right through the gutter.

Having said that, it's been happening (in a different way) on here, you just can't legislate for people being pricks.

If they have concerns about the minute’s silence then postponing games won’t help with that. Eventually PL games will resume and there will be a tribute at that time.

I don't think it's a concern in a 'oooh should we play it or not' kind of way, there's absolutely nothing they can do about it anyway, if peopler are going to disrespect it, then they'll do it regardless. Personally I think it'll be fine. At least I hope so. (maybe one or two instances but you get that anyway)

Well if it goes ahead, the rest this weekend before heading to Portugal is certainly added bonus for us.

You think there's a good chance they'll go ahead next weekend given the latest snippets coming out?
