For all his goals, Haaland is a disaster for City. They are much worse team now they're playing an out and out striker.

An odd player. A brilliant lethal finisher and that's where it ends. Kane all round is a better player and comfortably the best in the league.

That’s what I’ll never understand:

We can put in a performance like that, then be absolute fucking garbage against a lesser team next week.
Actually this season weve only lost to Villa and Newcastle.

Before today, we'd lost every game against the bigger teams other than the Chelsea draw.

Massive shame we cant play them later.

I think so many things were against us.

Injuries to key players, a disruptive window and players low on confidence.

Even against City we started well and went 2 up. Stupid mistakes and we are all over the place again

Its so important for a Conte team tk be extremely composure and focused at the back.

Teams like City and Arsenal start on the front foot so they force mistakes earlier but are more susceptible to late mistakes costing them.
? bad timing with that fixture. If we played them next weekend with the 2 new signings, our players back fit and a much more positive feel amongst the fans I think we’d beat them.

Momentum and feeling in teams at times is almost more important than tactics etc.

I'm strangely positive today. Yes it was only Preston, but I saw our boys rushing into tackles all over the pitch. The usual (infuriating) stand off and allow an opponent player to settle on the ball and choose his options was absent. Preston players unable find any rhythm.

If this continues then we have a chance imo.
Yep, felt we had got our physical side together in the last couple matches, delighted to have called this one right.

Who knows where this energy could take us ?

This is what myself and many others said at beginning of season.

Players like Haaland need the team to work for them more because they are so rooted to the penalty area.

Peps City at their best have been very fluid.

When Haaland was scoring hattricks people laughed at the critics but whilst people may have been wrong about how well Haaland bad done, they arent wrong about how its changed for City.

They are not the same fluid team

I'm going to give Romero a pass for the sillyness of the second yellow due to that tackle for the first effectively quieting Haaland down for the rest of the game.

Emerson Royal beginning to show the sort of form that meant I loved watching him at Betis. He's a very old school fullback in many ways and a rarity as a Modern fullback that can actually defend and even prefers it to attacking. I actually feel he'd do a job at RCB in a three as well.
