Welcome to the Spurs Vs Newcastle Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

I think I’m correct in saying that Bentancur will be our latest returning player late on the Wednesday or Thursday. Considering it’s a Sunday game hopefully shouldn’t effect us to much. Most will be back by Wednesday morning. Not sure any of Newcastle 1st Xi from last game are on international duty maybe Fraser. They definitely have a bit of an advantage in that regard.

Now that the International break is over, lets hope we are motivated to win games to try and get top 4 four, (although it is no longer in our hands), starting with this game.

Chris wood played for New Zealand this evening in Qatar. They’ll probably get him on a private plane straight back. But still a bit of a push to have him ready for Sunday. But only have Gayle otherwise so he’ll probably start.

Hopefully same team as before and another home win. Be great to see Spurs again, just hope we can keep a clean sheet, have no doubts we'll score.

I've always hated playing Newcastle. Especially in recent years against Joelinton who has scored against us in the last two seasons. An early goal for us would be key in this game to kill their motivation.

Two wins in a row has put us firmly back in the hunt for Champions League football but we cannot rest on those two victories. On Sunday we need to back them up with another win against a tricky Newcastle United. No matter how crap they have been they have developed an irritating habit of thwarting us at our own ground. We have actually done much better at St James's Park recently than we have at home against them and last season we were all over them and were robbed of two points by a penalty decision so bad that they changed the rules after it. Prior to that one we were beaten 0-1 at home by probably the only goal Joelinton scored that season. Indeed, the last eight times we have played them in the Premier League at home we have won only three games! That must be up there with our worst runs against any teams in the division.
So Sunday should not be taken lightly at all, they have picked up a lot of points in 2022- although they have lost their last two games; the second one in extraordinary circumstances, deep in stoppage time to 10 man Everton. Having said all that I think Conte will have us bang up for this one. This is a chance to get a win by at least two clear goals and be above Arsenal on goal difference before they step out at Selhurst Park on Monday night. It's quite the incentive and I reckon we will do it too. We'll have too much movement, energy and class for them to live with us. Kane, Son and Deki will open them up and I really fancy us to win this game by 3-1. COYS!

They seem to be a bit of a bogey team for us in recent years. That joelinton game was one of the worst matches I’ve ever been at. A truly awful performance on a really hot day.

Gotta keep our momentum up and get another 3 points on the board. Business end of the season now.

play our game, our way, with a strong mentality from the off. it's ours to put our imprint on and win - if we want it enough
