You would expect some improvement though wouldn’t you? We’ve done the clear out bit and now it’s time for the new team to emerge, but we’re getting worse. I get that he has his system and not all the players for it yet, but shouldn’t there be some learning shown?
I think we have improve compared to Nuno. There have been good performances against the likes of Leicester and Liverpool to name two and we look like a coached side that at least has an idea of what it's trying to do, even if the players can't pull it off (see: Emerson crossing the ball 1000 times against Watford to no avail). The problem is is that this takes plenty of time (especially without a pre-season) and we also don't have the personnel to suit the manager's system.

Yep. He really has been appalling. Not that any of our players have been good, other than maybe Romero.

But the whipping boy is Winks, unfairly in my books. He isn't a world beater, he isn't my favourite and I cant say we cant find better but he is what we have, he has some qualities amongst his failings but he certainly isn't the only one who fails sometimes. He is in our midfield which is getting swamped, pressured and doesn't have enough outlets. The whipping boys have shifted between Dier, Winks, Sanchez, Ali, Doherty and Davies. If you ask me our weakest link at the moment is Emerson or our right backs. Dier has performed his way out of that list maybe Doherty could do so due to no other options. I don't think this forum is going to let Winks do that though he has improved (which is why he is playing). There was the talented Nombele that a lot of times couldn't be bothered but some of these posters were prepared to be more forgiving with him than Winks.

The season was written off the minute we failed to appoint Ten Hag, Potter or Conte the first time.

By having to appoint Nuno, we went into the season with 'temporary plans'. The lack of backing for Nuno, the lack of conviction in the market and the general sense that we were just hoping Nuno would surprise us as we were hoping for something better.

This club dug itself into a hole and we are trying to get out of it whilst it's still getting deeper.
Too much seems to be left to hope rather than being clear and purposeful with goals.

Name one team challenging for a Champions League place anywhere in Europe that had a better window. Just one. Go on? Ours was bang average, so it should be really, really easy!
I'm not interested it what other clubs are doing. That's always the line trotted out isn't it?

We did really good work in January. I don't think anybody has denied that. But after the absolute CLUSTERFUCK of the last 2 or so years we HAD to nail it over the next few windows amd that meant having a hugely successful January window. Not an average one.

It's just not good enough. LAST SUMMER we knew Doherty was GASH. Two windows we've failed to upgrade. See Sanchez. See Davies.

How bad our decision making has been last 5 years do you have any confidence we will get to where we were? I’m not even sure Conte will stay beyond this season, our strategy often seems to be what falls or doesn’t fall in our lap, I foresee nothing but another summer of excuses…
I don't know, though I'd lean more towards no. In any case, it's a separate discussion. Hopefully things change under Paratici but we'll have to wait and see this summer.

Nobody was saying it was a brilliant window.

But we have been saying it was a window that sets us up for the summer.

We've not got there yet so let's wait to see what that brings
Want to be with you but sorry, like many others, I am fed up with things NOW.
Too many promises.
Our team and more importantly the club have become the ‘boy who cried wolf’.
We’re waiting for the promised land again and we can see it getting further away and we’re tired and angry that it’s always just around the corner.
I don’t even believe that the new leader is gonna stick with us long and everybody is gonna know how desperate we are and the price they want us to pay is gonna go up.
In business it isn’t easy to do deals when you need to steal workers. They’ve got to see the intention is there.

Alot of this is still on conte for me. Yes we dont have the best squad and certainly aint capable of beating the best team but boy has he made some bad decisions this week.
How has winks managed to play 90 minutes twice stinking the place out on both occasions. Why perserve with the same back 3 time and time again when its clear there is no organisation there and they just resort to panicking.
Why was sess subbed after 20 minutes. Why not take off one of the idiots that made the stupid defensive mistakes in the first 20 minutes like davies and leave the fresher player at left back.
Until he realises we dont have the players to play his system this isnt going to get any better and if he deludedly think this ownership will provide him with enough players in the summer window then i think hes in for a shock. We will be well down the pecking order in terms of being able to attract the top players and left with the decision between signing panick buys to appease the manager and prospect which may need years to reach there potential.

So, when does Conte kill them?

Should have been weeks ago...
But we looked clueless out there again, so either Conte isn't getting the message across so players are understanding, he is asking players to perform in a way they just not able to or the players just can't take it on board.

We hardly looked like we would score all game, and opened up at every attack.

No we’ve cleared out the wrong players….common denominators over the last 3 managers are still here who many on here applaud because theyre good blokes or they huff and puff…truth is they’re not good enough…Poch knew it, Jose eventually figured it out as did Nuno and Im hoping the penny has dropped with Conte

Yep, hugely concerning. And if Conte can’t get through to them, who the hell will?

Spoiling the entire week to come until the next game. Only positive is I can skip football altogether to concentrate on work.

Bunch of drunk toddlers. No balance, no weight of pass, poor control, always slipping over.

We must be the least composed side in the PL. Everything is right on the edge.
The pitch gets watered every game before and at half time - you would think the players would at least realise that they need to have studs on their boots. The way they slip and slide, you'd think they are playing in trainers.
