It was (IMO) intensity. We didn’t need this change or that, we just needed to be better than we showed. We started the second half with all of the players a lot of people were wanting to be taken off. Strange that ?

In the end, as poor as we were, we didn’t exactly give up a load of chances, stayed fairly solid and then played very well in the second half, we could easily have scored three or four.

There’s a lot more to come from our team.

Great result, and a much better 2nd half. Hojberg motm for me, thought he really put in a shift.
But we can't continue to start so slowly on and off the ball. Been the same in all 3 opening games.

Real game if two halves.

First half terrible, no intensity and have to say I expected a few changes just to shake things up - not sure anyone could moan about being hooked.

second half was much much better from the first whistle and we should have been out of sight really. Perisic, Kulu and Kane probably the stand outs.

special mention for PEH who grew into the game and controlled himself really well after an early yellow. Also to Richarlison, think we’re going to have a lot of fun with him!

I’m all for rotation and mixing things up, there shouldn’t be a first 11 culture…but it’s also about balance here and Son has been one of our best players over time, he is also a great link player with Kane, being subbed off should act as a warning but I’m not agreeing it’s as simple as Son out and Richarlson in for example. I am concerned by our general energy and the centre mid area. Still mostly positive and still early
