Having just seen team news i would go with this.

Gomes

Corluka Dawson Gallas Ekotto

Lennon Jenas Palacios Pienaar Kranjcar

Crouch

Having said that i would not be surprised if Harry went 4-4-2 and replaced Kranjcar with Deofe or Pav

Based on this article- the main line being
'
Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart will miss Saturday’s trip to Sunderland but Jonathan Woodgate is in the squad for the Premier League clash.'

That leaves our options short
And I say my team in the OP should be the one to choose
With a possible exception of Kranjcar in for Pienaar

In light of recent form and the team news, I'd like to see this...

Gomes
Corluka Gallas Woodgate Assou-Ekotto
Lennon Jenas Palacios Pienaar
Kranjcar
Pavlyuchenko

I don't think Dawson looks comfortable at LCB and is making far too many mistakes. Crouch and Defoe just don't look like doing it, and I think Kranjcar and Pav would relish the opportunity.

Would go with this too, but not sure if Woodgate's up to it yet. Would be a big risk so would probably still play Dawson.

Gallas should play LCB since he played left back for so much of his career he should be comfy there.

wouldn't even bother with defoe starting away from WHL.

I'd put this down as a loss boys and hope that Liverpool, city and Chavs don't win.

Because Boogie Nights is class

Furry muff. I thought it might have been because Levy had put a 36m bid in for him on Jan 31.

Team I'd go with:

----------------Gomes
Hutton----Woodgate----Gallas----Ekotto
---------Palacios----Jenas
Lennon-------Kranjcar--------Pienaar
-----------Crouch

Gallas has played every game at RCB, he won't play LCB. If Gallas is to play I'd choose Woodgate or Bassong ahead of Dawson.

For once I agree with you

Think that line up would give us a great chance.

How can people still pick Crouch or Defoe ahead of Pav?

Because a ball upto Crouch actually has a chance of sticking?

Having said that, I would be too bothered to see either Crouch or Pav playing. Will be interesting if we continue 4-4-2 or go back to 4-4-1-1 with Niko coming in.

I would play Kranjcar on the left and have Pav and Defoe up top. With out VDV i wouldn't even try a 4411

I'd actually really like to see that lineup- Kranjcar seems to be very effective in that role for Croatia. Also if it doesn't work we can always bring Defoe/Pav on at half time and go 4-4-2.

You take luka, vdv and bale out of any side they will struggle so even a draw would a good result tomorrow.

Niko to start in place of Defoe for me with pienaar coming in for rafa, other than that no changes.

This is when the depth of our squad is put to the test. We managed 9 against wigan without any of those players so its not like we're rubbish without them.
