With Henrik now signed with Maureen-ho, surely this chap is available (again).

I'd take him in the morning...though I'm curious of your thoughts and to be honest, I'm not sure if his wages would be a massive stumbling block?

P.s. (as strict backup to Christian Eriksen).

Id take him in a heartbeat, he would be a great player to have on board with fairly vast experience! As for wages...probably out of out price bracket for sure...perhaps 140k?
Mata/eriksen/lamela could potentially be mouth watering if poch could bring him back to his best.

I always wonder why people say they will take him when he's the very oppesite of a Poch player?

Id say hes more of a poch player than chadli, carroll and perhaps even mason. Hes a great team player imo and has more to give physically than hes shown at united.

If there's a chance I would take him but it's highly unlikely. He's a difference maker though. I think the issue with Mourinho is not his workrate but he just doesn't suit the system. I think he suits us better because we press high up and encourage the fullbacks to overlap which gives a player like Mata more freedom to roam infield. Eriksen blows hot and cold so why not have him and Mata competing.

I think he is the sort of player we need. Eriksen needs some competition and obviously plenty of games to play this season so plenty of opportunities. Maybe wages out of our league though.

Would be good to get a deal where Utd pay part of his wages and we keep our wage structure. He's just the type to unpick locked defences which is where we've struggled recently.

I think a few older heads amongst the young Turks can't be a bad idea

Still not quite sure what a 'poch player' is

Generally someone who can run all day, mata as good a player as he is doesn't fit this criteria, it probably the reason Jose wants rid too

Mata is a wasted talent, but not the talent I want at Spurs.

Maybe but that doesn't mean he'd suit us.

He's one of the good guys in football but I really don't think he fits what Pochettino is after. He will go to Everton and do pretty well for himself.

Mata is a good player in my opinion. Nobody is a Poch player, until Poch convinces then otherwise. If I recall correctly, Christian wasn't exactly the hardest grafter in the team prior to Poch's arrival.

That said, Mata would be an expensive option to sit on a bench, but the way see it we're going to need quality in depth at each position given our upcoming season/schedule.

...either way - I trust Poch

too unathletic for poch.

I don't see him as being any less athletic than Dembele, Mason, Bentaleb or Carroll. For him to have played for two of the PL top teams would suggest that he has more to offer us than going to another PL rival.
