I don't see Eriksen leaving - he's in the most competitive league in the world, we're about to play Champions League football and could conceivably challenge for the title next year. It's not happening.

As someone else said, maybe it depends on what terms we are offering on a new contract. Eriksen has been relatively underpaid up until now.

Strange that the latest ITK actually suggest Eriksen could be off, one would think that we would be able to fend off Italian clubs, even Juve at least for another season. Unless Poch is actually okay with selling him.... Would be hard to replace him tho and we would need to spend big moneys.

Two years left on his contract, either he signs new contract or Levy will surely sell. Cannot imagine such a valuable player being allowed to run his contract down to one year. Time will tell.

Even though his injury record is appalling ( something that you of all posters should know)

Fair,

It's just frustrating because he was confident he was over them, and then came the Wiltshire assault and the Sunderland-goal-injury - big impact injuries rather than injury-proneness injuries.

Like all our players, I'm sure we will have a +1 or a +2. So it's a similar situation to where Verts was 2 years ago when people were worried he was getting into his last two years.

It's a number that is depressing. We are in CL, they aren't. We have an awesome new stadium coming, theirs will take years. We have a far bigger fan base than them. We have the best young team in the country, their squad requires total overhaul. Yet still they can get £60M a season just for their kit. Incredibly depressing to think the objective perception is that Chelsea is that much of a bigger club than Tottenham.

I just don't get where the info regarding the stadium comes into this. Will we be playing at the Nike Bowl or will we be playing at the AIA(insert whatever) Arena, sponsored by Nike and in Nike gear? At what level are people expecting this involvement by a major sportswear brand? It just doesn't seem correct to me somehow.

I still predict that however Nike are involved then the naming rights will also be on the table elsewhere - shirt sponsorship and stadium. Apart from everything else, the total appearance of ownership of Tottenham by Nike would not imo be a good marketing move by them - especially if we do not do that well. In addition we also have the complication of the NFL of course - how will this come into the equation?

Why would he go to Serie A tho? ?It's a weak league. I could understand Spain but not Italy. Besides, Italian clubs can't pay big wages.

It's only a matter of time before Eriksen signs a new contract with us IMO. He's said as much in the press very recently.

Yeah, obviously it's not a case of an old player having dodgy hamstrings etc. He just seems to be one of those players who is unlucky with injuries and seems to be made of glass.

If we are happy to sell I think we should hold out for at least 10m, but anything much more is pushing it imo.

I think he'll stay if we offer him the right contract, but I could see the attraction of Juventus. Guaranteed CL every season and a good chance of major honours.

I wouldn't be that upset with Eriksen leaving as long as we replaced with someone like David Suarez. Think Eriksen flatters to deceive on many occasions. Technically good player, but rarely imposes himself on a game

I personally would guess that Eriksen would prefer one CL season for Spurs before moving, if not wages are ridiculously good other places.

Actually he does impose him self, but not necessarily in a way that's obvious on match of the day.

might as well put this here as well
finders on coys: for the first time ever I have some itk on this one. I'm told it will be 25m then an additional 10m for each year we qualify for the champions league. It doesn't go down if we don't qualify so it will keep going up in theory.

thats about nike obviously

That's one of the better cryptics !

Rumour is Juventus are one of them. It would be a nightmare if we sold him. Would show we haven't really changed at all.

I know what you're saying and if indeed it boils down to wages and we don't recognise his worth then Levy has cnt end us off again. How can Poch have doubts given the frequency with which he plays him?

But I don't want to jump the gun because I had really hoped Levy would stump this summer after all the unity of purpose stuff we've been reading. And Poch surely deserves it.. Eriksen and Lamela not signing however wiould be like a big black cloud hanging over the squad if this drags, considering the understanding they've built with Kane and Alli. I haven't recovered from the latest outbreak of laughing stock, fck knows we don't need another this summer...

I think the club (Poch and his team) has proved that Mason can play through a whole season. As you rightly say above but for impact injuries he's been remarkably trouble free.

Sorry.. I only check in and skim read most days.. Are you ITK Nigel?

Only about Mason. Poch sat down with him a few weeks ago and said he's very much in his plans for next season and not to get disheartened by his injury-affected performances during the spring.

If my memory serves me wasn't his last major injury due to a tackle that deserved a straight red when he scored?
