Would be gutted to see Onomah go. Kid has so much potential.
By the time amount of times it happens on here, you'd think they love it.Some people just don't like to be baffled I guess
Actually it does, it means the buying club needs to pay a higher fee usually. ??
Fuck I hate these cryptics. I'm going to guess it's Sissoko and Nkoudou. The Goat was referring to Onomah and Edwards so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
I’m not so sure.Onomah leaving on a permanent deal would be a gutter. Sends out all the wrong signals to the talent we have coming through the ranks too.
Why couldn't he just post the word leaving instead of some mumbo jumbo?
I’m not so sure.
If a player can’t make it at Spurs, that doesn’t mean their career is over, there are still dozens of clubs lower down the leagues that they could play for.
I think if we show that we’re willing to let them leave if they don’t make the cut, rather than sign them up and keep them benched (or worse, not even selected especially now that reserve games are a thing of the past), there’s still an incentive for them. The opportunity to work in our academy, which has a reputation for being a pretty good one for the young players, even if at the end of it they don’t get to play for us, is still an attractive prospect, I’d say.
Most kids will be told early on that playing for the academy doesn’t automatically mean that they’ll don the full shirt one day.
Precisely.Ryan Fredericks, Tom Carroll, Nabil Bentaleb, Alex Pritchard, Jake Livermore, not to mention players like Ryan Mason or even Peter Crouch that were let go off from our club after developing through the youth system. Their chance doesn't just stop at Tottenham
Both have far more potential than winks...with Edwards it seems to be attitude and numerous other more personal issues. With Josh it's being played out of position every single time he plays a senior game of football. He performs so well at CM for the England youth team, including at the world cup, but never gets a game there at senior level. It's just mismanagement imo. I'd be pissed off if we sold him to villa as part of the Grealish deal. Josh is by far the more talented footballer, especially at CM.In reality, the chances of a player from our youth setup actually breaking through and having a serious impact in our first team are incredibly slim - and we're one of the better clubs in this regard.
We are, however, very good at spotting serious talent in other youth setups and bringing them to the club (Alli, Dier, Foyth, Sanchez in recent years to name a few).
If Onomah and Edwards are makeweights to secure signings which will improve our squad depth, then so be it, and best of luck to them. If they had the potential of Winks and Kane then I'm sure Poch would fight hard to keep them.

The only way that's true is if Winks continues to have injury problems. Winks without injury problems has the potential to be world class. Both have far more potential than winks...with Edwards it seems to be attitude and numerous other more personal issues.
