You mean calling every club in the world to inquire about their best player and then chucking £50m at them? Yeah, gotta admire it...

I'd rather we take our time (not a long time, a few weeks) and get players in for a reasonable price.

well im sure you are one of the thousands on here that love the way levy goes about his business keeping spurs on a even keel. spending a bit here and there and expecting miracles so whats the difference with roman!?

Oh, that's why you're in love with Giovani Dos Santos.

your point?

by 'in love' im assuming you are referring to the fact i said like 4 days ago that he has been poorly managed by redknapp? I think it would be hard to disagree there, not many of our squad players are ever given a chance.

while we're on the topic, do you not think its a little bit sad to try starting arguments on the internet, in a thread that is totally unrelated to dos santos?

Sensational stuff, if it's more than just a tease! I would have thought, especially with Rodgers off the table, that we'd probably end up with another year for Harry with the long term replacement coming next year. The thing that doesn't add up for me is Classyguy's source, the one saying that Harry will be off tomorrow on SO, works with the first team. If the coaches or players knew, surely Harry would know himself (which Ryan indicated he didn't, at least as of a few days ago), and everyone else would be hearing about it. We've heard some ITK whispers but there's been very little in the press other than the perhaps fanciful Mideast links. Could Levy have prepared for a push-out and lined up someone else without anyone knowing? They've closed down the leaks and some of the Levy-connected ITKs have been (wisely) circumspect, but could they really have kept that secret? Remember the Ramos fiasco?

If Harry really is off, which I suppose we will find soon if not tomorrow, my money would be on AVB. With Rodgers gone, I don't think Levy is going to gamble on Martinez and I don't think he would go to the effort of pushing out Harry and just replacing him with Moyes, who may be safe but I don't think could be a dynasty builder. Cue conspiracy theory: I thought AVB was close to joining Roma recently but they just hired Zdenek instead. AVB was sounded out for Liverpool but only at an early stage, while Rodgers (who had been talked to about the job) rejected their overtures at first and then invited them. Is it possible that after Kenny was fired, Levy jumped in and lined up AVB, which freed up Rodgers to go to Liverpool? Probably not, but this has been a strange strange year.

Capello is damaged goods now, dont think he has a shot in England the players won;t take him seriously - much like McClaren.

Would love Ancelotti and am sure he would happily walk away from PSG for a job in London. The guy is a winner and gets his teams playing some really good stuff. Plus a massive name in European football could attract top players.

Have said for a while if the links with Txiki Bergistrain (sorry on spelling) are to be believed then Rijkaard could be coming with him, that would be massive.

Also agree that I DO NOT want Martinez, I mean he got Wigan to play for like 7 games this season and just kept them up .... I don't think that good criteria if we don't want to continue with Harry

Not hard to disagree at all, the lad is a shit****. Who isn't very good. Never has been. I don't like it when people just neg rep (dislike, dumb etc) posts which is what you do everytime someone says something about the Mexican maverick. But your mention of Rijkaard sort of makes sense as to why you think that.

in fact i've gone full circle, I wanted him out and was outraged by what he did to us concerning england job. However, with the options out there that are attainable while in the Europa league and the problems it might create in the playing staff I am firmly against him leaving now. I really think that penalty shoot out for chelsea has basically knocked us back 5 years in terms of targets, who we may attract who stays and where we go from here. I think it's too big of a coincidence that Chelsea still have no manager, have bought half our targets and Harry may leave. Im gonna bet on him for chelsea manager and will not be suprised in the slightest if i win.
It really hasn't set us back 5 years. We're in the same situation as we were last summer. We'll attract the same level of player that we've attracted the past several years. Maybe the exception being VDV who may not have signed if we weren't in the Champions League. But not a lot has changed at all.

We haven't been able to compete with Chelsea in the transfer window for 10 years so nothing new there. We were never going to sign Hazard for that sort of money. We'll never sign Hulk for that kind of Money. While I doubt we were seriously interested in Marin.

I'd be sad to see Harry go to be honest. Guy's brought us into the elite European competition for the first time in my Spurs-supporting lifetime and given some pretty awesome memories for me.

If Harry is leaving because he's not being given a contract extension, which may not be the case, but seems likely until we have more info, then I doubt Levy has somebody already sorted like he did with Jol. He'll probably have to interview a few and find the one from his England list that is available and interested. We've never heard anything about him interviewing candidates during "Harry is off to England" period.

Martinez being a viable candidate is a joke. Rodgers and Lambert both achieved more this year than Martinez has ever done.

There must be something pretty sensitive going on. JJ does not post throwaway statements, because he knows the gravity and weight of how each of his words are valued that are posted on here. One off hand remark and thousands would go into meltdown needlessly ! It's also interesting that he hasn't responded further and has left it at a non descriptive statement, that he knows full well how it will be taken through his intonation.

If you can find one example of where i have 'neg repped' someone for mentioning dos santos, i would be extremely interested to see this.

i dont care enough about the 'rep' system to bother annoying people by giving them bad feedback. I come on here to have a look at the transfer rumours, read the itk and give my views in some of the threads, whereas if you see something you disagree with, you seem intent on airing that view and starting a feud.

your probably a grown man, with a house/job etc, its an internet forum, let it go mate. (although i highly doubt that you are seeing as your picture is of a teddy bear, although each to their own i guess)

Didn't Martinez just come out and pledge his future to Wigan, again, after holding initial talks with Liverpool anyway?

Could you imagine it.....talks to Liverpool and nothing further happens for whatever reason, then pledges his future to Wigan, then starts talks with Tottenham :)

My money would be on AVB.

Which itk was it who said Mourinho has seriously recommended AVB to Levy?
