the relevance is, this is the lawro thread, dedicated to lawros predictions which go towards making a table based on Lawros predictions.

....and the fact that Everton are top instead of about 9th just shows how crap he is :)

But if it was that easy we'd al be making millions on accumulators

what is the relevance of the table, what does it mean - he's average?

I started to keep a table, because I remember last season a lot of people said he hated us, and always predicted against us, while others said we would be higher on "Lawro's table" than we were in the real table. But then no one knew for sure, but this year we'll know

The problem is his guesses are not even based on his own logic!

He'll say 'Burnley havent scored, let alone won, away from home, and I cant see that changing.

Prediction: 2-2'

How he is still on tele is beyond me. His commentary is not only useless its bloody annoying, and his analysis is either stupid or bloody obvious (he's scored an own goal, thats not good defending certainly)

Cheers Garm, It'll be interesting to see his final table.

Yes, the bindipper was running late today.
Anyway, here it is:

Portsmouth v Tottenham
I hope Harry Redknapp gets the reception he deserves at Portsmouth - and that is an extremely good one because of what he did for that club.
He got them out of the Championship, brought in brilliant players (all of whom were sold for a profit) and won the FA Cup. He got out when he saw the writing on the wall and you can't blame him.
I just hope a few mindless idiots don't ruin the day. On the pitch, I reckon Pompey will pick up a point - and it'll be a great help for Paul Hart to have Avram Grant's experience with him from now on.
Verdict: 1-1

I hope he's wrong - again!
That's strange,I heard him on Irish radio this evening giving his predictions for the weekend and he said Spurs would win.

If you look at the bbc website it says at the bottom "Lawro reserves the right to change his predictions" He does his real predictions on a friday evening radio show. Drivetime at 5pm I think?

Yes, it's that time of the week again:

Tottenham v Stoke City
Stoke are now looking more comfortable in the Premier League and have had some quite good results. Questions are still there to be asked about the team on their travels.
This weekend they are facing a free-flowing and confident Spurs side who create plenty of chances. No points for Stoke.
Verdict: 2-0

Let's hope he's right - for once!

Guess you'd expect this to get closer to the real table over the season as he's more likely to tip wins for the clubs further up the real table.

Going to take us a while to break into the top 5 I think......:)

I'm not sure that Everton being near the top of Lawro's table is a reflection on him being a bad judge or simply that Everton have massively underperformed so far. Their first game of the season was Arsenal at home who they finished 1 place below last year and they got absolutely smashed off the park.

After that they have played: Burnley, Wigan, Fulham, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Stoke and Wolves.

They've only managed to win 3 and sit in 11th. I'm sure most would have expected a little better. They are still yet to play Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Villa, Tottenham, Sunderland. They are only 4 points off the relegation zone.

Yes I think it will be quite similar to the real table at the end, with a few exceptions. Wonder if Chelsea or United will lose at all...?

Lawro so obviously controls Time, Space and matters of Human Destiny that perhaps it is about time we considered having a whip-round and bribing the git:wink:

A couple of moustache waxes and a subscription to potting shed monthly will probably do it

I have heard Lawro 'confess' to feeling that WE are 'odds on' to crash into the Top 4, sooner rather than later.....but that our 'unfamiliarity' with this area of the League might jeopardize our final position (in other words.....THFC will finish where they finish ha ha). I do get the distinct impression that most of the 'in the know' Pundits have no more of a clue, on what the final league positions will be, than YOU or I ? So.....money for nothing or a valuable 'insight' into workings of the football world....? Hardly the latter.....more a flip of the coin basis? There are some pundits who are worth their weight in 'wintergreen'.....but they are as rare as Hen's Teeth? What scares me most is that Lawro tends to get some results correct....sometimes.....4-1 Spurs Win COYS
