true, but some of teams haven't been to man utd, liverpool arsenal. we have 2 very winnable games at home and judging by the wat we have played over the past 4 games we'll be well safe

If you cannot take comfort in a very decent performance with half our starting 11 out of the squad against, argueably the best performing team in the league this year, then I'm not sure what you can do.
We were unlucky yesterday to not pick up points, but we are performing much much better as a team now.

Another 6 points from the next 2 games and that gap will be closed. Although I cannot see us getting a top 6 space, we won't be in a relagation battle.

The gap between us and the clubs above us can change in 3 or 4 games so im not to worried. From what ive seen recently we wont be in trouble fighting relegation and im actually looking forward to the second half of the season. And for the comments ive read about us maybe only picking up ten points or so from the next 5 games, alot of people thought we were going to be slaughtered against arsenal but that didnt happen. Im very optimistic about the next 5 games and with the way we have been playing feel i have every right to be.

The league table will look for healthier as the new year kicks in and we have 24 points.

Now Funnily enough I believe that our league position is going to help us win some silverware this season. We will be in no danger at the bottom and too far away at the top to overly worry about the league and players can be rested and preperations extended for the cup games.

I'm going to be positive and say that we will win at least 1 of the League or UEFA Cup and believe that we will make the final of both.

FA Cup depends on the draw,Man Utd away in the 4th round and concern will set in.

This season is going to have a positive sting in the tail.

Worry not, harrowspurs. The only way is up, trust me on this one.

We have played our away games at Bolton, Man United, Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal. Never happy hunting grounds. We only have to visit The Bridge for the last of our "scary away" fixtures.

Apart from that we should go into every other game confident, expecting to win. Yes, there are some tough ones ahead (Blackburn, Everton, Villa, Citeh away) but these are level 2 scary.

No we won't finish 5th, but it will be top half for sure. If you want something to agonise about, we'll probably just miss out on a UEFA Cup spot like we did three seasons ago!

There's futher twist and turns ahead, to quote Ramos "we'll plan for the long term in the short term". Enjoy your Xmas turkey and look forward to 2 hum dinger home performances over the festive period!

I'm not worried about relegation at the moment, our general play is slowly improving while the bottom 3-4 seem to be getting worse. The only way is up for me.

the problem is that we played well yet still got nothing - we were unlucky to lose to brum, we were unlucky not to get all the points against west ham, we were unlucky we didn't get anything at liverpool and manu. we were unlucky not to beat bolton we were unlucky not getting a point against sunderland. we are unlucky that Ledley is injured and Bale and Rocha etc......do you see a pattern emerging? Yes I can see the improvement over recent weeks and we finally got what we deserved against pompey and citeh, but if our luck doesn't change then we could still be in the shake up

We were unlucky against Blackburn and Fulham too:razz:

I've seen us begin to play better with more conviction without what most would consider our strongest starting 11, Although the gap with teams above us is still large it has narrowed a little.

We were unlukcky to lose to Sunderland and Birmingham but in the end we lost because we were inept in defense, I think that has been addressed I honestly believe we have turned the corner now.

I just don't see it?

I am actually MORE optomistic after yesterday than I was before. We went to the scum and controlled the game for long periods. Their fans were groaning and whistling when the added time was shown and they were praying for the game to be over.

I watched them play Chelsea and I can tell you that we made a far better go of it than the chavs did.

I predict that we will get more than 50 points and to be honest relegation has NEVER entered my mind.

Another great thing about yesterday was that we never played any better than we have for the last few games, we just went there, with half of our team missing, and did what we do.

How many chances did they have from open play? 1 or 2? How many did we have?

I reckon we will lose no more than 4 more games this season in the league.

As Ramos has said, his system works, and it does.

Don't get me wrong - I think we have improved greatly in recent weeks and i can see us finishing the season strongly, what i was saying is that with all the skill in the world you can still lose games you should win. look what happened to the spammers a few seasons ago they were a 'team too good to go down'.
even if we win the next two games we will still be below tenth and a maximum 10 points off a relegation place.

I am not a doom monger and I am sure we will be well away from the bottom of the table come may (when we add the Uefa to the Carling and FA cup triumphs!!!!!

we got both Arsenal games out of the way, and Liverpool and ManU at home. Juande's got the team in pretty good form despite suspensions and a rash of injuries, using some makeshift line-ups. whats to worry about?

To be honest West Ham weren't too good to go down, the fools sold Frank Lampard and decided it'd be a good idea to boo their talented youngsters (Carrick and Cole) who needed a confidence boost. With Kanoute injured they were left with a poor defence, an inexperienced mifield and few strikers. They got what they deserved.

We have an international keeper, several very talented defenders some of whom are injured, a good mix of midfielders to choose from and our choice of strikers is up there with the best in the league. We've matched almost every team we've played this season and stupid individual error have cost us dearly. We seem to be cutting this out to an extent. This season is far from over and is nowhere near a write off.

I would happily accept mid-table and a cup (preferably UEFA) this season with the start we've had.
