So our last 5 games have seen 4 wins.

We have doubled our points tally in only a month and yet we are still only in 12th.
I definitely think we can still make 7th this year but I have to wonder - who would we overtake?? The top half of the table is unbelievably competitive this season, we really need to win against our rivals (starting with villa on tuesday) if we are going to have a chance of qualifying for europe via the league this season.

Newcastle under Allardyce don't look like they'll move far from mid-table...

If Pompey keep up their awful home form, they'll slide down, especially next month when half their team buggers off to Africa...

I'm not sure if West Ham will go on the sort of run that will propell them into the UEFA spots...

Everton, Man City and Villa look most likely to stay the distance, Blackburn seem to have lost some consistency, and if Santa Cruz got injured, who'd score for them?

If Man City picked up 35 points at the half way stage i'm sure under Ramos we could do the same. That would then put our total around the 60 point mark which is what we got last season. Can we win 11 games and draw 3 out of 18? Ambitious but u never know. Under Ramos we are virtually averaging 2 points a game if we were to win 11 and draw 3 of our last 18 we would continue averaging 2 points a game

I've been vaguely following the gap to 7th, and over the last 3 rounds of matches I think it has gone down from 12, to 10, to 9 points. That may be wrong though. I think we can outscore Villa, and/or win in a tight match given that we won at Pompey and Man City.

City next 3

CarToon Army away
Everton away

Everton next three
Midds away
Man city home
Wigan away

Villa next 3

Man city home
Man Utd away

Looking at those fixtures I think only Portsmouth and Blackburn have absolutely easier fixtures than us, so if we could get 6 points from ours we'd stay level pegging at least with almost all of them, and if we got 7, playing very well, we'd make up ground for sure. It mostly depends on Villa away I think.

Same here. Looking at the list I don't see any we're 100% sure to lose. If we win the next two games I believe we'd be on course for 4th! I think that'd be the limit though, if we slip up a few times we'd still finish 5th/6th

Think its testement to Juande's ability that our form is top four material when you consider the amount he needed to understand very quickly. Then take into account the horrific injuries he's had to deal with!! Imagine to improvement he can make given a full pre-season.

Can't see a top 6 finish after such an awful start, and just like this time last season (even in a better league position then) that our best route back into Europe looks to be Carling Cup. Again, only Arsenal' B side stands between us, long awaited return to Wembley, a Cup final we're more than capable of winning, bit o' silver to put in the undoubtedly dusty, cobweb filled trophy room, but most importantly, a place in Europe, which is a major factor in keeping/attracting players to play for Spurs.

everton got destroyed so it bodes well..

Just as with our recent result at the 'Emmerhoids' where arguably we deserved at least a point. Everton bossed the game for long periods, created chances, and result was not a fair reflection on the Everton performance.

Tough game likely methinks:roll:

i do believe we can gun down aston villa, blackburn, west ham, newcastle and portsmouth, no prob. that is, of course, if we keep playing like we are playing (reading game aside!).

but man city and everton. don't think we will catch them.

so like i said on page one, it's still 7th to 9th position.

I see catching Everton as a distinct possibility. It is only 9 points behind them and plenty of time to do it. City are a better team though and will keep improving after the transfer window.

Everton's defending was on a par with ours.

Agree Howard & Yobo' cock up had more than a passing resemblance to some early season cock-ups Robbo' & Kaboul performed:bang::bang:

The first three goals were all defensive errors.

Hello Jagielka, is anybody there?

Howard & Yobo as you rightly say then decided to join in the fun.
