Question: If we appoint Conte are people going to be happy with winning football matches his way? Because lets face it he will win us football matches but it won't be glorious free flowing "Spurs DNA" football.

The football isn't half as bad as some make out - he played some lovely stuff at Chelsea and Inter. In any case, for the first time in three years we'll actually have a style of football

Always thought his title winning Chelsea side was fairly decent to watch, certainly not boring.

And they scored 85 goals that season, 5 more than Man. City
There's a difference between pragmatic and boring though. Which ever way you look at it it's not attack based football.

As a fanbase we seem to flip flop from "just win something" to "just entertain me" multiple times a day.

As soon as we have a few tight 1-0 victories over Burnley or Norwich etc there will be people saying "This is so boring! Levy has no clue appointing Conte, he was never the right fit""

You can't win a football match with no shots on target.

WHATEVER his style of play, it'll be an upgrade if we're winning.

I think he has enough credit in the bank that people will give him more leeway with his style of football.

Issue with Nuno is that nobody believed he had a plan, and issue with Jose is that it always looked unsustainable and there were genuine concerns about how relevant his ideas are in modern football.

Conte is a bonafide world class manager in his absolute prime. People will be more willing to accept less entertaining football if we're getting top 4 again. He's also got charisma which keeps things more interesting, unlike Nuno.

I think at this point just seeing an obvious system and plan will satisfy most.
Spot on. Just having a coherent plan and having players able to pass the ball to one another will seem like a huge improvement.

I’ll be thrilled if it happens, although still think it’s a very odd fit.

Well a lot has happened since then! And not in a good way..

This will happen...Levy knows he's the only marquee option to unite the fans...
I just wish Levy didn’t need to hear the sound of pitchforks and torches before getting interested in checking out what’s on offer in the marquee aisle

In his last two title winning seasons his teams have scored 88 and 85 goals per season. Whilst the football might not be “free flowing”, it’s not exactly Mourinho “park the bus”.

It is a great point! and I'd like to think and hope the majority will be. Conte's teams can be defensive but they're intense and they score goals and create chances and he's a genuine world class manager.

There is always a balance to be had. Personally I've always said that either we go balls deep for a genuine world class manager of which Conte is in the top 5 in the world imo up there with Klopp, Guadiola, Pep, Tuchel etc, OR if not then you hire a project manager who can play the Spurs DNA free flowing glorious football.

Jose played negative football but was a divisive character and he wasn't world class when we hired him he was a busted flush, Nuno plays terrible football was dour and wasn't good enough, Conte's teams play better football than both of those manager and he is 100x better.

I'd like to hope and think that most Spurs fans are long enough in the tooth to realise that if we get Conte we will finally finally have a genuine world class manager and not only that but one who has successfully worked with our DofF Paratici previously so we just back them and let them build some success.

I watched a fair bit of Inter last season and thought they were great to watch! Wont happen but if by some miracle it does, dont be shocked to see Brozovic arrive.

Perhaps the penny has dropped that we need to get a top quality coach and that the squad is on its last legs and needs a spark etc.
