I think my point is that the role really isnt about being a core passer. Unless a simple pass backwards to a midfielder is beyond them. The core is mobility. Get into the spaces, the rest sorts its self, because players are all moving into predefined coached positions.
All good, primarily played Martinez in that second striker role and he does a lot more than get into space and play simple passes back into midfielders and Martinez is a few notches up on the suggested plugs.

Regardless of how well/bad Conte does, Levy still needs to go. I hope the Levy out chants don't stop and the pressure for him to go continues.
Ok if he appoints Conte that is showing ambition..i will givw the little one a pass

But if he start to penny pinch in the transfer window again.

Yeah you have to question why he'd actually want to come here?

He does seem to like a challenge, I suppose. Inter were a bit of a mess when he took over and he took them back to the very top.

If he can win anything at Spurs that's a huge accomplishment, unlike at other top clubs where it's expected.

Oh, and the huge salary won't hurt.
We in that weird position where we are a massive club but brides to be. If he can take us and win something big he go down as a legend and on a personal note, be a massive accomplishment for him. Being optimistic here, but on a romantic level, we probably appeal to a lot of managers. The history is there, also the foundations are now there. I can see it being an appealing prospect.

Well G-THFC flew from Rome to Brize Norton yesterday.....:geek:. Anyone know where Conte lives....
If that’s the case, it was either military top-brass (someone with enough stars to not have to fly in a C-17 or A400), or a diplomatic flight.

I just can't see it unless Levy/the board have had a complete change of heart about what is actually required.

It's also admitting that they were wrong as they should've appointed him when they had the chance in the summer and Levy has way too big an ego for that.

If Conte signs then his contract will no doubt include clauses about funds to invest into the squad. And i just can't see that happening under these owners. Unless something has changed.

the only thing that has changed is funds from 2 NFL games and a boxing match. This maybe Levy’s final panic button knowing that the sponsors are contingent on CL - which will only become tougher with Newcastle’s funding.

I won’t fall for this trap again, but I gotta believe that Levy needs this for a sponsorship and you would hope that the Saudi’s scared him into backing up the money truck. With the addition of the Saudis, the premier league is setting a bar that if you can’t invest a minimum of 100m in a summer window, you are likely not getting European football - which includes Europa and Conference league. That is one thing Daniel can’t say no to: money.

Conte coming in now is probably better for Levy, he'll be forced to at least try and work with what he has at the Club before January.
Plus January is a tough window to sign players in .... just ask Hitchen how he feels about it. ;)

That effectively gives Levy until next summer until he has to come up with some proper wedge for Conte.

JJ always said that the media are days behind on what is actually happening. Let's hope the same is happening here and things with the next guy are further down the line.
The Italians arent. They're the ones breaking stuff now before we get a sniff

Lots of noise on twitter about Conte and I'd take him... but if he saw that we were a basket case with no hope of winning anything in the summer - what has he seen to change his mind?
