the fans as a whole have backed every manager

Bullshit! The fans back every manager when we're playing pretty football.

You can't always win pretty - as soon as our fans get their heads around it, we might actually back a manager through thick and thin.

A lot of our crowd won't even sing when we're winning anymore.

I've got an idea: Levy should hire him (with congratulations, etc.), and then fire him (and wish him well in the future), all in the same day.

Would at least spare us of the inevitable.

You also obviously missed the fact that our youth set up was completely overhauled and revamped 10 years ago and that we are only now beginning to see the fruits of that labour. So whatever happened in the past is irrelevant. It doesn't equal the future.

Those who are involved in or who follow Spurs' youth teams at all age groups (in fact, anyone with a current good knowledge of youth football in England, regardless of their club) will tell you that Spurs are right up there among the very best academies in the country now. Meanwhile, the Ajax youth set up isn't quite the world class player factory that it used to be. But that seems to be something else that you've missed.

We aren't Madrid's feeder club. And even if we aren't bigger and better than your proposal, then Ajax certainly are. They are deserving of far more respect than you are showing them.
I know it was overhauled years ago and what fruits are we seeing???
Harry Kane Not quick enough
Bentelab is the same as Livermore
Livermore farmed out as he's average
Obika seems to have been around years and not made any impact

Spurs may have a good academy but if players don't make the first team it seems pointless
If Ajax is on the way down on the academy front,we better hope we meet it on the way up as people on here have named 5 or 6 players that FDB should bring with him, I haven heard the clammer for our players
It seems we've been madrid s feeder club the last two summers

no i didnt say that, it was a conversation with someone else with regards to a NEW!! appointed manager, and the majority of fans will back the manager appointed!!

Well, that's the point, isn't it? We won't get to see the full results of transforming the youth set up until those kids who were in at the beginning (or after), from aged 8, have graduated. And we are only now approaching that time. But we can already see that the academy has churned out a consistently better quality of youth product over the past five years than it did over the previous twenty.

Spurs may have a good academy but if players don't make the first team it seems pointless

But the same would apply to youth players poached from Ajax, according to your suggestion. If they aren't given a chance, then they will never make it.

If Ajax is on the way down on the academy front,we better hope we meet it on the way up as people on here have named 5 or 6 players that FDB should bring with him, I haven heard the clammer for our players

Which players? How do you know that they are good enough - or better than those players that we already have? And how many of them were actually Ajax academy graduates rather than signed from other clubs? As to you not having heard the clamour for our promising youth players, that's because they are still 16, 17 or 18 and haven't even begun to take their first steps in senior football yet.

It seems we've been madrid s feeder club the last two summers

They've bought two players from us. And paid a king's ransom for the privilege. £120 million. That is not the same as us being a feeder club.

I do concede that Southampton play a very attractive brand of football. The fact that Poch is Uncle Joe`s choice nags that it`s not entirely a football based decision.

I don't think you should talk about ITK info as if it's gospel, instead I think you should treat it as a kind of low-grade gossip, just like the creative stuff you hear at the pub of a weekend.

Nice analogy. I like the the suggestion of intoxication too (fans' fantasies, to speak or hear even the most outrageous of possibilities).

The likenesses are uncanny, not seeing how JJ thinks it's someone else, maybe he needs glasses (new ones if he owns any already).

Could it be a pic of the new offices levy is in above the sainsburys instead of the training ground?

Would explain it looking like an office entrance.

That is obviously Pochettino in the picture but it's not our training ground according to JJ and others, so I guess it's just a random picture?

I have been against Poch from the start but to be fair to him - I have heard interviews with some of the Southampton players and they have all come out and backed him and given an insight into what he is like as a manager - they all clearly love the guy. I would still favour somebody with more experience but I am coming around to the idea of Poch getting the job.
