Well it looks settled now even with FDB being spotted at an airport. I've always said either one of them will do me but I'd pick De Boer if it were up to me. I think a lot of people felt the same from what I read in the other thread so hopefully we won't get the hardcore element of the Pochettino fan club trying to claim his appointment as their own personal victory. It's time to forget about last season and get behind the whole squad, not just the manager.

Absolutely.

In a rather odd sense of timing, I have bootleg of the Dead playing right now

Really not sure what to think on this.

I suppose there is no rule to successfully appointing a manager and we've tried so many combinations in the past, who knows.

He has massively improved Southamptons results on the pitch and got them playing a fast fluid attractive style of football whilst developing their younger English players.

I would have a question mark over how good his English is but much moreso over his ability to manage bigger egos and also his lack of experience at the higher level e.g Champions League and winning things. He does however already know the league quite well so could in theory be more likely to hit the ground running.

De Boer has won things with Ajax, managed them in the CL developed youth and got them playing attractive football,he has also played at the highest level and is a previous captain and proven winner.

Don't think Poch is a huge risk and he could well do well for us but I'm not as optimistic or excited about his pending appointment compared to De Boer.

We shall see, in Levy we trust...hmm with hiring managers I'm not sure I do.

Hope we get this one right and he knows more about Poch than we do.

Also don't like the idea of him not doing interviews in English, don't think it'd mean much connection with the fans.

I'm content for Poch. I had FDB as my first choice but it didn't mean I didn't have my doubts about him - I know he won 4 titles in a row after Ajax hadn't won the title for 6 years, but as he's never dealt with 'failure' and 'pressure' per se, how will he react to some adversity and having no 'easy games as such' in the Prem.

Poch has the experience of winning and losing in the Prem and I like to think that with a better squad at his disposal he could make us play a more successful style of his Southampton side. The experience of the Prem is important IMO - coming into a new league and trying to replicate what worked elsewhere is not always guaranteed to pan out. And I imagine the Prem is a hell of a lot faster than the Erividesie

Spent some time watching videos of Poch whilst he has been at Southampton. He speaks perfectly good English and comes across as being very genuine guy! I'm starting to get quite excited. Pochettino's Blue and White Army.

Wanted FDB as our new manager, but Poch will get my full support and I'd hope that any real Spurs fan will do likewise and get behind Poch and the lads
