Mauricio Pochettino set to sign bumper new £3.5m-a-year Tottenham deal this summer
  • Contract Talks have begun between Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino
  • The Argentine is expected to sign a new £3.5m-a-year deal this summer
  • It would represent a significant raise on his current £2m-a-year contract
  • Jan Vertonghen has started running again as he closes in on a return

Thanks, but would would have been better if you'd made it so he was going sign his new contract in the next week or so.

Find it very hard to believe that a manager of one of the top teams in the premier league would only be on £2m a year.

Great article on BBC sport about Poch. Makes you feel all warm inside.

Bielsa went on to manage Argentina at the 2002 World Cup, with Pochettino fouling England striker Michael Owen for the penalty David Beckham converted - the only goal of the match. Argentina travelled to Japan and South Korea as one of the favourites but failed to qualify from their group.

"Owen had the ball. I stuck out my foot and he dived. In that moment, Michael was more Argentine than me," said Pochettino.

I remember thinking at the time that the penalty was a little "fortunate"... Had I known that that man responsible would be OUR Poch, I might have scoffed at Owen's "lack of balance" more than I did.

Sorry Poch.

I see tomorrow's Sun is reporting that he has a £10M buy out clause in his contract.
1. I hope it's not true
2. If so let's hope we tie him up to a new contract soon minus that clause
3. Those tossers never stop trying to unsettle us. Gets right on my pip.

if he has a 3.5m a year contract over 3 years i assume it would cost around 10.5m for a club to poach him from us. If its a further 10m more then that would probably put off all but a few clubs.

We need to start singing this man's name. Fans need to show how much we love him.

Pochettino's blue and white army is obviously a great start but what else?

John Denver - Annie´s song. I know Sheffield United uses it, but I´ve never seen/heard any other club use this song. It´s a brilliant chant imo. "oh Pochettino, come thrill me again"

I heard the "It's Magic, you know, Mauricio Pochettino" song during one of the last games I watched loud and clear. I like that one a lot.
