Some players, not all, have a preference for playing in the Champions League. Kane, for one, would be more agreeable to a new contract if we were still a Champions League club next season. Why is finishing in the top 4 essential?
.....and then go for the cheaper option? So we can attract and afford the very best players.....
No. The true value of getting into the CL is that it prevents our enemies from doing so.Financial. The value of CL is immense.
Certainly the case last year I was OK about getting 4th or 5th last year but getting 4th over Arsenal was what made it for me.No. The true value of getting into the CL is that it prevents our enemies from doing so.
Those guys suck.

Calm down fella. There was a time not so long ago (it least it feels that way) when European football was not the norm for Spurs fans.I really dont want to see Arsenal in the CL if we aren't there with them. We NEED to get 4th. I cant deal otherwise
I know mate, i know. I have become accustom to seeing us in there and not them over the past years and i dont wanna go back!Calm down fella. There was a time not so long ago (it least it feels that way) when European football was not the norm for Spurs fans.
The only summer I remember Kane trying to leave was the one with Nuno. And I'll always remember Kane's quotes about staying as long as there's ambition, signing Nuno wasn't ambitious. So I don't think you can put Kane wanting to leave on us not getting CL.Also gives you a better chance of keeping your best players. The two seasons we failed to reach the champions league were the seasons Kane pushed the hardest to leave.
I think it there was a hell of a lot of luck involved in the goons doing that. The goons haven’t been in the champions league for years but they have managed to build a squad that is likely to win the league this year.
Even when sitting comfortably at the top of the league in January they were still willing to go out and buy Mudryk for circa £70m to push them over he line before Chelsea stepped in. Would we have done that? Would ENIC have sanctioned that kind of spending in January or would they more likely have thought, top4 is is in the bag why risk spending money on a player(s) who could flop.
So yes, the money from the CL is huge, but additional revenue for additional revenue sake doesn’t excite me to anything like the level i would have been with winning even a lousy carabao cup.
It now seems like the only reason we prioritise the Top4 is to give us a better chance of again making the top 4 In the following season.

It was widely reported he wanted to leave the summer before as well but Levy refused / Mourinho convinced him to stay.
Cheers. Very tough run-in both home & awayStill in it but getting harder:
Home games:
BHA
Bournemouth
Man u
Palace
Brentford
Away Games:
Everton
Newcastle
Liverpool
Villa
Leeds
To match last seasons 71 points, we'll need to win 7 games and draw 1 with 2 defeats. It will be possible to finish 4th with 66 points as that has has happened in the past but that will need 5 wins and 2 draws.
Bournemouth and Palace look the only gimmes in that above list. It is all about momentum, need to find it somehow.
This calculation doesn't make sense. We lose when we must win. Our performance is so inconsistent...Still in it but getting harder:
