All this talk of top 4 being 'done' was premature and mostly just an expression of the disdain for our performances, and the fact us winning out was/is unlikely given that. Truth is through, our toughest game is the Leicester one on the last day, and winning out the rest of the season is possible from here. Chelsea are 5 points ahead. But if they lose against City then (assuming we keep winning) theres only 2 points in it, and they also still have to play Arsenal and Leicester, and away to Villa on the final day. If we win out and they lose to City, they just need to draw one of those remaining games and then it comes down to goal difference, which is equal at the moment. Also Leicester are 7 ahead, seems insurmountable with 4 games left. But one of those is against us. Assuming we win that, they need to drop 4 points from 3 games to be level on points (goal difference also currently the same), and two of those games are against Man U and Chelsea. Sure its unlikely, we will probably go and mess it up against Leeds next week typically, and it is dependant on us winning all the remaining games, but it certainly isn't 'done', that is defeatist to the extreme in my book. And even if we end up 5th or indeed even 6th, that ain't half bad all things considered.

Lads.
Sorry.
We’re not getting Top 4.
Not a chance we win all our remaining games.
Not good enough.

5th or 6th after this season is acceptable though ?

Arsenal handing us a top 4 spot would be a nice conclusion to the season. I'll have to add AFTV to my YouTube subscriptions if that happens.

Ha, I did consider that could be a spanner the the old works. Though they might still have something to play for (um, huge stretch there though). But would the players without the fans really distinguish between us and Chelsea and choose to not bother so much to hand it to Chelsea, while playing against them. Maybe, I dunno.

We've got a decent set of fixtures and no cup distractions in the run in. But I still don't see us catching Chelsea or Leicester.

Edit - I've just seen their remaining fixtures. Both tough runs and they will have to rotate for the cups as well.

Maybe Liverpool and West Ham have a chance after all?

Would be great if chelsea and leicester both missed out.

The key games could be Leicester vs United and also vs Chelsea. We really do need United to at least draw with them, assuming they beat Newcastle (dropping points against Newcastle would be a massive bonus). Then it means both teams having something to play for in the Chelsea Leicester game, and we could take out the losers so to speak (Ha, again assuming Chelsea lose to City. Assumption assumption assumption). Grasping at straws a bit, but its not an impossible scenario.

I wouldn't put it past Newcastle to nick something vs Leicester. Then with our game saturday and the Chelsea game against City, we'll really know if the Top4 race is on. If those 3 games all go our way then there's a very real possibility of it happening.

The problem I have though is how good, West Ham and Liverpools runs are. We need them to drop points asap.

This is the positivity I like to see at least. If we win the remaining games we'd be very unlucky not to get Europa at least, and Champions league isn't an impossibility at all, certainly 'cause us winning out may well mean we pip Leicester considering how they are playing. Though as you say that's not enough if Liverpool also win out. But then we can all blame Mourinho for not playing Bale or something.

Don't think their players care one bit about us getting CL. Not exactly Arsenal boys 'til they die, are they :ROFLMAO:

Although I can't see us winning the rest of our games, I really can't see Liverpool doing it, either. They have 6 wins in 17 PL games since New Years. And, excluding that one win against Villa three weeks ago, they haven't won at home since against us in December.

Leicester 7 ahead of us.
Chelsea 5 ahead of us
But they playing each other, so something has to give. Obviously we have to win all our games, but we'll either make up 3 points on one of them, or 2 points on both (if they draw)

Beating in mind that we'd have to beat Leicester in winning all our games, that's either 5 or 6 points we're could potentially make up on them if they don't beat Chelsea.

Or, if Leicester do beat Chelsea, we'll have made up 2 or 3 points on Chelsea needing them to mess up once against one of ManU, Arsenal or Villa.

West Ham looking like they are running on empty the last few games so can see them dropping points.

Momentum is huge when it comes to end of season run ins. Just need to keep the run of wins and good performances going. Believe.
