Just skimming through an English-speaking Napoli forum and they don't seem massively bothered about him leaving, expecting around 20m for him.

even Allan Hutton looked quality up there. Celtic where embarrassed in the CL last season and fair enough they had PSG and BM, but they only just scrapped through the Europa league and went out 1st round in the KO's. the quality of opposition in Scotland is so poor, and the majority of teams in their top league would struggle in the bottom league in England

As was Van Dijk and Wanyama, where did Liverpool's LB start his career? ?

You could say the same thing about players who play in leagues which are much inferior to the SPL, we might as well not bother going for Grealish either.

At the end of the day people should be able to see whether a player has ability straight away regardless of what league they play in and there's plenty of talented players about, if anything it's the mental chateristics that define players not solely ability.

Why would they? Both Sarri and Carlo have hardly played him. He’s obviously a rough diamond type. But we’ve scouted him for a long time, so we must have have seen something we like, or that Poch can work with.

100% agree with you, the point being is some lists have the likes of Sancho, N’Dombele, De Ligt etc all in the same list.

I know it’s a transfer wishlist but you’ve got to have some realism too. We won’t be spending anywhere near £50+ million on a single player, if we do I’d be incredibly surprised.

No need to set ourselves up for disappointment like we have the past two windows.

That being said, I do think we can find some value in the market. It’s not impossible to get some first teamers for under the benchmarks being laid down, it’s just going to take some really good scouting and a lot of luck.

Why not? We spent £40+ million on a CB two summers ago. I can't see why we wouldn't be willing to spend a bit more than than that on a player in a more attacking position.

Are you assuming this? Because I can't remember anything about him that's not picked from media. Just interested.

Eriksen is in the throes of his 10th season as a professional but he is only 27 – his breakthrough came at Ajax in 2009-10 – and, in Levy’s eyes, he is lavishly valuable. The chairman has let it be known that he would cost £130m, which has drawn the usual rueful smiles, although not from Eriksen. If this were not Levy, the position would be unbelievable. But this is Levy. Eriksen faces a complicated summer.

Pochettino will likely lose Michel Vorm and Fernando Llorente on Bosman free transfers and he will listen to offers for Victor Wanyama, George-Kévin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen. The quintet have been bit-part players but it all adds up to a churn. Spurs’s squad is not the deepest in the Premier League’s top six. Players out will mean players in.

Who to turn to, particularly when money is tight because of the new stadium debt repayments? It is interesting that many of the players the club have scouted are prospects aged 23 and under. They include Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Jarrod Bowen (Hull), David Brooks (Bournemouth), Max Aarons (Norwich), Kieran Tierney (Celtic), Sean Longstaff (Newcastle) and Harvey Barnes (Leicester). They also have a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

there aren't many inferior leagues compared to Scotland. VVD, and Wanyama are not Scottish, and Robertson looks better because VVD, Liverpool's defence before he turned up and their new keeper wasn't too good. All 3 have proved themselves in England before taking the step up.

The Championship which Grealish plays in is 100 times more competitive than the Scottish PL.

I agree people should be able to have their views, and mine is I don't think he would do well in the PL, like any Scottish players playing up there today Kazakhstan, San Morino. He doesn't face anything like the competition he would here, and would be targeted by every manager.

if he comes down and proves me wrong for whoever he joins I will hold my hands up

Can't wait for us to sign none of those.

He was already excelling before VVD joined, and definitely before Alisson.

Liverpool's defence improved and less goals when VVD joined, since Alison joined it has improved even more. with his forwards play he would fit in perfect for us, especially with the defence we have at the moment. if Tierney signed for us, I would be worried (my onions)

Outside of Aarons, I hope we don't. All players that should be a level below us.

Yeah I'd love Aarons, personally think he'd be the 2nd best choice besides Atal but somebody on here posted that Aarons isn't too keen because of his time with us as a youth.

Edit: Atal not Atul

Been impressed when I have watched him on TV but isn't he a bit short for the PL ?

haha amazing, glad I didn't say some shit bastard, tbh I'd kinda stopped myself getting hopes up from that point so good to see you say you're not adding much weight to it.
