I need a massive clear out after last night.

Player wise, I fancy us to break the record of no signings for a third straight window. I like records.

Levy probably annoyed that Chelsea will use their ban to equal us and go for the big 4 windows to get some light between us.

Been thinking this for a while, before the game last night I said to my mate that in the summer we only have 4 or 5 "untouchables":

Kane, Winks, Sanchez, Son and dare I say it Sissoko.

All the others for one reason or other could be sold. Of course they won't be but the club has to decide if we've hit the ceiling or want to kick on. Its obvious that half the squad isn't title winning standard.

Don't think this thread is knee jerk. It has been coming.

Despite the results the football has been awful this season for the most part. We have been beaten 8 times and have managed to grind out a lot of wins, partly due to mentality, partly due to luck, little due to quality really. I think there are quite a few players that are nowhere near good enough if we want to challenge for the title. If we just want to worry about finishing top 4 then this team is fine for that, providing United, Arsenal and Chelsea don't perform better next season.

I can't remember feeling so fed up with Spurs in a long time. Did anyone else kind of feel like a collapse might be on the cards? I didn't, but I can't say I'd be completely surprised if we finished 5th/6th now. Poch has done a good job with this team, but this team will never win the league, so something has to give if we really do want to win run City/Liverpool close next season and beyond.

Back on track, if I could replace adequately then players up for sale would be:

Lloris
Vorm
Trippier
Aurier
Davies
Wanyama
Dier
Moura
Lamela
GKN
Llorente
Jansenn

Not to mention Toby and Eriksen who will probably be off

Much work to do.

Poch doesn't seem to fancy Moura at all. Gives him fuck all time to influence games.

tbh his performances after xmas has been shite. Player of the month in August, after that his curve has pointed downwards. Does not make any impact regardless of how many minutes he gets. Should be on top of that whenever he have the chance.

Can’t afford it even if Poch wants to buy a whole raft of players.
We have a full squad so it’s the same excuses we have to sell/get rid first.
Toby and Eriksen may well want to leave but there has to be a buyer and they have to want to join that particular team.
Not easy

Agree entirely with the exception of Dier, his attitude is what we're missing.

I think that's an odd list of "untouchables". Sissoko, for all his advancing this season, is ultimately still replaceable. Vertonghen is definitely a no-sell. We would probably also not sell both Rose and Davies, so I'd say one LB (and one RB) is non-sellable.
What we should do though, is approach it the other way around. Not by asking "who can't we sell", but by starting with the most disposable player from the list over non-important players, and go one by one until we've sold a handful of non-HGs who are not playing.

Moura wasn't my first choice to come in but I wanted to give him his day, I agree with you his performances haven't been great but I think for the last few games he's barely been given an opportunity to get amongst it. I'd rather see him on the ball scaring defenders than LLorente fouling cbs for 30 minutes.

Sissoko is only untouchable in the team because of the options. He's done great this season but he should be very possible to replace if we would bother with some proper scouting for once.

He's untouchable as far as first 11 goes now but when it comes to summer, if we want to kick on we need to see him as a great rotation option rather than indispensable.

I don't want Jan to leave but at his age its inevitable before long, likewise Toby. Sissoko has made himself a regular starter.

My point is for various reasons (mainly poor recruitment) we've stockpiled mediocre players.

I’ve missed threads like this.

What ever happened to people’s sigs being full of list of in’s and out’s complete with arbitrary transfer values and totals at the end? I miss that shit.

If there is one thing I love, it's debate about football players values especially those who aren't moving clubs.

There's too much to change, we won't do enough business in the summer to fix all our issues

We put ourselves back a year by fucking around last window

(Lamela Moura good squad players)

Toby and Eriksen if good monies come in and they don't want to sign contracts then thank you so much for your services all the best.

We need major work on our wingbacks number one area for me. A dominate Central Midfield general, left winger and another player maker / dribbler don't shoot me down but we should be looking to get both Brooks and Grealish and other players on top.

Eriksen has had 2 arms, and a leg out the door since the beginning of January. He is gone.
That’s rubbish. He just has periods like this where he loses form. It’s usually towards the start of a season. One thing I cannot dobut about the guy after him being here five plus years is his professionalism and desire.

Every defeat we get a knee jerk thread, it's almost like clockwork.

We're 3rd with the best away record (up until last night) in Europe, we're very likely to get into the quarterfinals of the Champions League and about to move in to probably the best stadium in Europe.

Yeah, massive clearout needed, fuck it sack Poch while we're at it and sell Kane. Yanited fans used to do my nut with their sense of entitlement, seems like a little success and it's just fans generally
