That’s rubbish. He just has periods like this where he loses form. It’s usually towards the start of a season. One thing I cannot dobut about the guy after him being here five plus years is his professionalism and desire.

Sorry mate I disagree, its his desire I've been questioning for a while.

It’s the same bollocks again with him. Ooh he doesn’t tackle like Roy Keane, he must be a pussy. Guy has played 50 games every year, has constantly ran the most distance every season for Poch.

Sometimes people just go out of form. It’s the same when Kane plays badly. Ooh he must be tired, or his ankle’s not right. No, sometimes he just doesn’t play well. He’s human, not a machine.

think it would be more useful to have an updated list of contracts, remaining duration by the summer.
Off the top of my head....and feel free to amend, edit etc.

Out of contract in the summer - Vorm, Llorente, Nkoudou
1 year left - Wanyama, Alderweireld, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Janssen
2 years - Rose (?), Sissoko,
2 years + Kane, Ali, KWP, Lamela, Trippier, Foyth, Sanchez, Winks

Not sure it willl make me feel any better abkut last night but at least its factual (rather than emotional)

Eriksen has had 2 arms, and a leg out the door since the beginning of January. He is gone.

Where is he going to go?
Can’t see Real Madrid or Barcelona wanting him tbh.
That’s no disrespect to Eriksen who is a top player contrary to recent form but Barca and real already have better players than him

He's untouchable as far as first 11 goes now but when it comes to summer, if we want to kick on we need to see him as a great rotation option rather than indispensable.

Yeah. We really can't be relying on Sissoko to keep up his form. We know how horribly bad he can be when it's not working out for him.

For me this summer has to be a brave one

Out
1.Trippier - 25 mil
2. Aurier - 25 mil
3. Toby (has to go due to contract status) - 25 mil
4. Wanyama - 10 Mil-free
5. Lamela - 20 mil
6. Onomah - 10 mil
7. Carter Vickers - 10 Mil
8. Jansen - 10 mil
9. Llorente - free
10. Eriksen - 60 Mil

Total = 195 Million

In
Wan Bissaka - 40 Mil
Zaha - 50 Mil
Ziyech - 40 Mil
Anderson or De Light - 40 Mil
Doucoure or Weston Mckennie or Thomas Delaney - 30 mil
Brooks - 50 Million

Total - 250 Million

Other options

Bale will 100% be leaving Madrid
Tielemans May be available if Leicester don’t have an option To buy
Isco or JAMES also.
Some of these outs are probably likely but it is quite concerning.

That's our RB and first choice CB (Toby) out.
Our DM (Wanyama) and best AM and creative hub (Eriksen) out.
Our second AM and occasional creative hub (Lamela) out.

That leaves quite a few holes over the pitch.

We desperately need a dependable DM/CM alternative. Another AM who can compete with Eriksen (if he stays) or replace him.
Our fullbacks need a revamp, certainly the RB side and we probably need another AM/WS/CF type who can ensure that quality does not drop once Kane is out. That is quite an outlay of spending and at this present moment I don't trust Levy or Poch to get it right.

Bale, Isco, etc etc - NO CHANCE!!!

P.S Why Poch? Well my concern is that Poch can be quite indecisive when bringing players in and just because our number one targets are unattainable doesn't mean that there isn't alternative quality out there.

My wishlist, realistic if we shift a few:

Chilwell
Wan Bissaka
Kondogbia
Fekir

All four would get into our first 11

Nothing to do with his tackling he went hiding last night. So yeah his desire is questionable and no amount of running stats can paper that over

Where’s your proof he went into hiding? I saw him trying to make things happen, but his touch or passing wasn’t quite good enough. Also, other teams know he makes us tick and they set traps to try and limit the ball he gets, which Chelsea did well last night.

His stats stack up - he’s been one of the most creative players in the league every year since being here, and we’ve been lucky to have him. He does go through dips in form, always has, and it’s just unfortunate it’s happened right when we’ve needed him the most.

Not sure how this is knee jerk. Our full backs, TA, Eriksen, Wanyama and Janssen leaving have been discussion points all season.

I think it is unrealistic to look at such an overhaul though.

People just have unrealistic expections from the squad. It's like they want change for the sake of it. Dont mind the fact that we're still doing better at this stage of the season than last. That's without any signings at all. It's literally proof that we don't need massive changes. We're not far off the top as it is. We were in the title picture just a week ago. 2 losses and we're back to this again. We didn't sign anyone this season because we found it difficult to improve on the players we have. Now we have half a squad to improve on apparently.

We could sell a right back and not sign anyone, just promote KWP. We could sell Wanyama, Janssen and Nkoudou no trouble because they've barely featured the past couple of years anyway. So really as it stands we need to replace Dembele, most likely Toby (or if Dier replaces him another midfielder) and Eriksen (who I would only let go if we bring a top replacement in first). I would also look at a versatile attacker who can lead the line or partner Kane.

3-4 signings is a lot more realistic along with the odd academy player coming through. I guess from players we've been linked with for example, De Ligt, Berge/Rice, Sess/Werner and if Eriksen wants out someone like Isco.

As it always should be, a manager has to be always ruthless each year and assess which of his players continues to buy in 100% to what he wants to do. In Poch's case, that's largely about hard work, energy, intensity, and to press high, before we even get to the quality of football. Some of these qualities have been lost this season, and need to be addressed and re-established wherever we ultimately finish up in the league and in Europe.

Now that might mean shipping out obvious squad filler, but it might also mean being brave (Poch's buzzword after all......), very brave, and getting rid of those right at the top of the pyramid if they're no longer doing what is required and standards have slipped.

At a base level we do have good battling qualities, we've seen that so far in this disrupted season, but some of that hunger and intensity has been lost in the last 12-18 months and that needs to be looked at. The manager himself though has to take the lead though on this and make the calls.

Clearout needed, but wont happen. You're dreaming if we can shift the shit we've got for anywhere near what Levy would want

I think that most people will agree we need financial intervention now. We've proved this season the squad is robust and can compete (season isn't over yet) as writing this were in a good position league wise to qualify for CL again next season as well a game away from the quarter finals of the CL itself, so not all bad but we've seen this season on season come the business end when we need to hammer down, we are short big time against the 6 six club and the odd banana skin teams.

The last couple of seasons, Liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea would only have a couple of players that would get in our first 11, now its about 7 or 8. Our decent players have lost form or got injured. We only need to keep
Kane
Son
Eriksen (if he can be bothered)
Vertonghen
Ali

The rest are just average

What do you mean we're short big time on the top 6? We're 3rd and we've so far matched Chelsea and Utd against eachother (lost 1 won 1). We now have to beat Arsenal at home and try and win away to City and Liverpool because we lost those games earlier in the season. I would say we're short of Liverpool and City for sure so not expecting to win those. We have to prove if we're truly ahead of Arsenal by winning at home Saturday. Do that and we set our mark as the 3rd best team with 10 games to play. Yes we've lost the odd banana skin game too but we've also won games that would otherwise have drawn.

At this time we're progressing from last season at this rate. As long as we keep it up we can improve on our points total last season. We've just dropped back from the 16/17 season when we were at WHL. Get back home and add a few key players this summer then we can push on again next season. If anything the stadium came at the wrong time and we've been a little in transition since. The average age of the squad is still good though and still room to improve with the players we have. There's a few older players we can replace and a few fringe players who we can just sell without replacing (give their limited minutes to the academy players).
