They believe he has left but they are going by a tweet by Edo Maghoma, so it is possible that Edo just accidentally left him off, also he only named 9 players, 2 of which were GK's, so that would be a very small intake if that was all.

On another note, Breezer has said that Edwards has now signed a pro deal.
No. Heard from three different people at the end of last season that Kirby may leave, this confirms it.

Thanks, do we know where ? Think ManCity. Chelsea and Arsenal have announced scholars, obviously they can add an extra one but seems a bit odd - unless things are still not settled.

Would be really disappointing to lose Kirby, really talented footballer with plenty of character about him. I can see why he might be twitchy, he's got one of the biggest talents in the country ahead of him in Edwards, who can't even get game time himself. Like many others I would have preferred to move on the likes of Goddard, Miller and maybe even Oduwa who, while talented, are not good enough to break through here and to start giving U21 spots to the likes of Edwards and Kirby.

Dunno where. It's a bit odd he'd leave without having a club lined up.

pretty sure the reason he'll have left is because other clubs have offered him money while we're offering him "character development".

I agree, and just looking at his twitter account, there are still pics up of him in Spurs gear and he still follows me and thee as well as a few other obvious Tottenham fans.

If the decision has been made by him to definitely leave I would expect him (or agent/advisors) to tidy up his social media accounts.

That's why my conjecture is that things are still up in the air

Getting twitchy because a 17 year old hasn't yet got any gametime? What kind of logic is this?

If he has decided to go to City or whoever it's because they are paying more.

I've also seen the proposed dates for matches, all in international breaks, so one game in EFL trophy at end of August, then another about 5 weeks later, followed by another 5 weeks later etc.

Going to be hard to remember where we are before every game.

Much better to have games every couple of weeks to maintain interest in them.

Initial format will be groups of 4 with one PL academy team in each group along with 3 teams from League 1 and League 2 -definitely followed by knock out phase with the competition going to end of the season. Explains I guess why we kept so many of the development squad on to play in the competition.

Edit :
Player Eligibility Criteria:

- EFL Clubs – a minimum of 5 ‘First Team’ players in the starting 11 as defined under the competition’s existing rules.

- Invited Clubs – 6 of the starting 11 to be U21 (as at June 30).

Also interesting to note that home games will have to be played at the first team's stadium. If the format stays for next season it could rather comically result in us playing an EFL Trophy Group Stage tie at Wembley.

Billed at the moment as a one season experiment to bring in 16 Academies teams.

Indeed, but as long as it isn't a total failure I find it hard to see why they'd stop. Sounds more like an attempt to appease Football League fans who are for the most part strongly opposed to it than anything but we'll see.

I said it before and I say it again, we need a sherwood figure alongside McDermott that has experience of playing at the highest level, that can get people believing in to the project and that is respected by parents and youth players

Losing players is becoming more common and unlike before its not our rejects that are leaving or like 8 years ago them going to better academies. Clubs offering big money isn't anything new but the players need to feel like they are valued like Sherwood did

Even though sherwood is a prick, he did have a good impact off the pitch even though he was meant to have it on the players progression

What is Ledley's main role at the club?
Could he not do that job as well?
Just asking.:cautious:

He could but the only question mark about Ledley would be whether he can do the dirty side i.e. talk for days and get players believing in the "project"

Ledley's role imo is literally he does whatever the fuck he wants lol, he holds some youth sessions but his main role is club ambassador

Club Ambassador.

He did a stint as u18's assistant coach but has given that up atm. He's obviously respected, which would have to be part of the role that @beats1 is suggesting but whether he has enough of the personality to put arms round shoulders and talk with ease to youngsters/parents encouraging them to believe in Spurs academy system is a n unknown - I've not seen that side of him, so maybe he has it and maybe he hasn't that kind of personality

Ledley is not a talker his def not a massive personality, great footballer but when he talks his no sales man.

Thanks for clarifying, I kind of knew I was clutching at straws tbh.
