Starting XI: Vorm; Amos, Carter-Vickers, Walkes, Lesniak; Wanyama, Mason; Georgiou, Carroll, Son; Sterling.

McGee, Ogilvie, Miller, Maghoma, Trippier, Edwards, Harrison and Chadli came on at half-time.

Ball, Pritchard and Bentaleb also featured.

Real lack of full backs due to euros, but good to see lots of youth involved, esp Edwards getting a chance with the first team.

Good to keep a clean sheet with a whole development/academy back line. Hope CCV has a really good preseason and Ogilvie

@thfcacademy As did Harry Winks.
Disappointing that Oduwa didnt play as well, shocked Georgiou played especially at left wing. I rather have him LB, I dont think he is good enough at LW, The best game I have seen him have is at LB

Especially considering that 2 of that back four were our of position

Waiting for someone to say they are wrong.
It sounds right, as opposed to one year contract, which imo has been a case of lost in translation as a 1 year extension is a 2 year contract(the maximum you can offer a 17 year old) until he is 18(then you can offer a maximum of a 3 year contract)

Its why a lot of the big academies lose their players at 19/20 like Pogba, Sinclair and etc.

Oduwa probably still on holiday as he was involved with nigera recently

Oduwa has been training with the development squad and not the first team, so it doesn't look good for him at the moment.

One and possibly 2 more pre-season freindlies before Spurs England players return and get a couple of days training underneath their belt on :

July 16th vs Fulham and
July 21st vs Rotherham.

Hopefully we'll see who is playing in those games to get a sense as to who may be involved with the first team squad during the season.

ManCity has joined ManU, Arsenal, Liverpool, and of course Spurs in decling to take part in the EFL Trophy. Apparently they are now inviting in some Championship sides.

I wonder if they will consider changing the rules so its attractive to PL Academy sides ?

The main complaint seems to be the matches being scheduled in the international breaks, meaning elite youth players will be away with youth international teams. That can be fixed relatively easily - League One and Two play during international breaks anyway, so you'd just need to swap EFL Trophy dates in the international breaks with League dates outsider of them. Two caveats however. Firstly, it's too late for this year, so we'd be talking 17-18 at the earliest if they keep going with the idea. Secondly, because of the requirement to use the first team's stadium, it would exacerbate problems with clubs not wanting to commit to opening it for extra dates when they could be hosting other events, performing cleaning and maintenance etc: an issue that has already contributed to Liverpool withdrawing even with the matches never clashing with their first team.
