This is what happens when you leave your deals to the last week, you take a massive gamble and hope to scramble through the first 3 games, and even after then it will take a while for new signings to settle. Learnt from past mistakes my arse!

Spot on and this is what I've said a number of times on here already.

It's the same almost as last year just that we are 1 point better off not good enough either deliver the goods or you will get left behind for any chance of top four.

Sad as it is our chairman has a blind spot and I'm getting angrier each season with his nonsense, he sacks Harry quick enough but can't his arse in gear and get HIS new man the tools for the job.

I would like to see the transfer window shut before the season starts and then that way we might have a chance of competing in the first few weeks of each season.

that implies they have just sat there and waited for the last week, i doubt this is the case. There are many problems, including the Modric move. Closing deals is complex, they've had time but obviously not enough.. it is, however, a strong point in the case for closing the transfer window before the first game of the season - as it is every season.

Don't think the whole transfer window needs to change because of our difficulties with getting business done. I agree that we've been working to get deals done and obviously we want to sell at a maximum and buy at a minimum but at some point this policy needs to be considered alongside the difficulties it causes the team at the start of the season. Also we don't seem to bring in these big targets. I guess if we bring in moutinho, Leandro/llorente and another (willian etc) then the policy may be understandable. However if we do less than that then perhaps we need to consider why we waste so much time chasing unattainable players, with our budget.

AVB learn from your Chelsea mistakes. Too much changes in a short time is not the right way to go.
A good manager should choose the most suitable tactics and play to the team strengths.
Not using square pegs to fit into a round hole (433, Speedy players, high line).
Learn to adapt yourself to Tottenham instead of making the entire Tottenham team become your next Porto style.

No harm trying below:

Gomes;
Walker, Daws (C), Vertonghen, Ekotto;
THudd, Sandro;
Lennon, van der Vaart, Bale;
Ade (Damiao)

For kind considerations.

lost me after Gomes .......... sorry

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I didn't mean OUR difficulties, I meant in general as AVB had mentioned yesterday how the idea had been discussed at the Premier League meetings.

IMO, this thread should be locked for a while until the dust settles and we actually have itk in the RO to discuss. also, realistically there's little chance of credible itk being bandied about around this time.

The guy could be a car salesman and just delivered Sandro's new motor. :p
On a serious note I said that we should be parading two newbies tomorrow, I am still confident things will be concluded by tomorrow even if they don't get to be wearing the shirt. I have just heard two in town and will be at the game tomorrow and no I don't know which two, just told I will have to wait and see.
I know some of you will, but don't shoot the messanger, just passing on in good faith

Looks like we might have two new signings to show off on Saturday.
The future's bright...

Not today then?...

BTW: Who posted that Luka to RM would be announced today 10pm?

We will not manage top 4 with this team.................Gallas is a no go for me keep Daws or use Caulker when Kaboom is not fit. Sandro & Parker are a must............Livermore is a liability.....Defoe supersub or sell. Lennon has not progressed. Therefore we need to be very busy this week.

I hope Modric breaks his leg on his Real debut David Bustt style and gangrene sets in to the point he has to have it amputated

Blame for this clusterfuck lies fairly and squarely with him, if he had played today we would have turned them over

See you in the paralympics in 4 years Luka if there is a god out there

I really hope that pre-contract agreement for Lukaku goes through. That man is a handful and he's still developing.

After today, I need a hug. :cry:

After today it's really obvious that we need a proper GK (ala Lloris), a creative midfielder that can keep the ball in the team (ala Moutinho), and a striker that can get the ball in (ala Leandro). It's not like it would be nice to have them in the team, it's a fu**ing necessity! Plenty of good opportunities for the team to score in the first half, and it's really sad to see how poor they finish their chances. And the way we perform in the last 25 is nothing but horrendeous. Just hope the ITK's are right, cause we really need two or three signings immediately.

Levy, get your wheelbarrow ready, there is money that needs to be spent. I will be F5'ing on the keybord today, waiting for the two signings hertyid and GreyFox was talking about.

Knowing how much you hate neg reps that was a really stupid post to make Vince.
