I have to tell you that I haven't been bowled over from what I've seen from him. Puts himself about but not looking much of a goal threat at the moment.

I wish we had paid the £35m for Batschuayi, big, strong and fast. That's what we needed as an alternative to Kane. Janssen seems decent but a bit slow, similar paced to Kane and won't really stretch defenders.

Who was their 27?

He was what we were missing. Fast tricky and direct on the ball. No idea why we didn't go for him rather than njie and nkoudou. He looks better than both of them!

Seems like a lot of the issues we saw today have been consistent all season. Our players who were key have either been out (Dembele), exhausted (Dier and Kane), or not 100% (Verts). We seem deflated and don't press; if we press it's barely at all.

Vertonghen (first goal can't go solely on him) has been a massive weakness this season. I won't deny on his day he is World Class, but that is on his day, which I haven't seen since last season. He is clearly not 100% from the leg injury and has been a turnstile. As I mentioned earlier, all blame can't be on him, but I have to say he is not 100%.

Harry, where do we begin? I said it after the Liverpool match and will stick with it; Harry is exhausted. Heavy legged on a lot of runs and has not shown his ability to press. Again, he is world class and is our striker and I wouldn't change it, but the boy is exhausted. A lot of our defensive play starts with everyone collectively pressing, especially at the top. I don't think I've seen him push forward defensively frequently enough thus far. I understand the lack of Janssen goals, but he has terrorized defenders when in and isn't afraid to body anyone. I'm not saying take out Harry because he is bad, I'm saying he needs a rest, 2-3 weeks at that. That shot at the goalie is inexcusable.

Thoughts for moving forward:
-Kudos to Monaco. They played us perfectly. Shouldn't be fully on Spurs.
-Sissoko is dying to prove himself, and in the collective 20 or so minutes of play, he has ran all over the pitch. If he hasn't bought in, he sure is doing an exceptional job of making it look like he is.
-Toby is World Class. I don't think I can say it enough times, Toby is World Fucking Class. Has every aspect of a completed player. Dare I say he has a better long ball than Huddlestone?
-Dier played well and has tried, but is also, super leggy. Boy needs his Winter Barcelona trip.
-Alli is a different player with Dembele (granted it was 45 minutes). Just looks more confident, cocky, and generally comfortable. For that matter of fact, everyone is visibly better with Dembele. Bringing me to my next point of...
-Dembele makes this team churn. He owns the middle of the park and I can't wait to see him start week in and week out.
-I feel like we haven't made a lot of runs from the wings like we did last season. I am
happy to be proven wrong here but it just doesn't appear to be the same as last year.
-Sonny is interesting. Still a work in progress.

Maybe this is the reality check we need. Maybe this was the game we need for a cup check. Maybe we've been dying for Dembele. The more I watch this season, the more I ask myself when are we going to turn it on and show up. Poch won't settle and expect a different performance moving forward. I don't think this game was indicative of what we'll be, but it sure demonstrates where we stand.

Went to the match, coming back now.

Alli should never start alongside Dier, absolutely pointless, he needs to be near Kane or Janssen.

We missed Rose massively even though Davies had a good game it negated a huge attacking threat down our left.

Kane is tired, Janssen needs to start a few matches.

Dembele coming in totally shut their midfield down...Hope Poch learns from this and finds the right balance in our team, think Dembele coming back will boost us but he's got to find a way to play him in the league and the CL.

Monaco are a very good side, very professional, looked like seasoned CL campaigners and you can see why they are top of the table.

Btw Wembley is awesome, atmosphere was off the charts, getting out was ridiculouswas stuck in a mad queue walking to Wembley Park.

Result aside it was still bloody amazing to be at Wembley with 85,000 spurs fans. Will never forget the walk down Wembley way.

Angry Pochettino says he'd have subbed off EVERY Spurs player at Wembley if he could #THFC bit.ly/2co9DUk

Only Spurs would sell the most tickets by an English team, pack out Wembley and then proceed to bottle it in true Spurs fashion. F*ck my life....

Fans did us. Proud tonight. I'm gonna have some tinnitus when I get to bed. Too many players failed to turn up in the first half Davies is solid but you could see the monaco players knew they had the beating of him. It's not the end of the world. But we need to buck up our ideas.

Im glad poch is angry. The players were angry and you know what, it could be a kick up the backside for us and a catalyst.

Do you think poch actually killed out players tonight?

Took me just over an hour to cycle home. Feel for the 40-odd thousand fans sitting in cars in the car park. One friend still on the local roads nearby and another only just got on a train as I got home!

My match summary:
-fabulous atmosphere - well done Spurs for decking the place out and well done fellow fans for making it sound brilliant.
-slack defending. Walker was shouting at Eriksen to get tight just as they won the throw, he didn't, they crossed and made it 0-2. Lamela giving the ball away was disappointing. He didn't really step up tonight.
-Janssen looks really good. Brilliant hold up play and work around the box. Needs more minutes and a goal to get it all going. Lacks pace but great movement.
-Sissoko and Dembele made us look more powerful, albeit only for 5min for Sissoko but having Dembele back was great.
-we can still qualify...

COYS!

dont know about passion, but simply not good enough. Monaco took their chances, we didnt. Son and Harry in particular had lovely chances. Monaco were better.

From last season we needed that 'make the difference player. Maybe GKN may end up being that guy many weeks time, we don't know. For now, we need to start Sissoko, Moussa and Wanyama. Dier needs a break for sure.

It's a bit frustrating how we've signed two players who have the attributes that we're crying out for in Nkoudou and Njie , both for around £10m yet Clinton was either injured or used very sparingly and although I acknowledge it's early days but Nkoudou isn't even making the bench. A bit annoying and frustrating as we need players like these who bring injections of pace to regularly contribute to the first team. Are we really buying these players and coming to the conclusion after seeing them in training that they can't even make the bench or something?

Thought we controlled the game for about 70 mins or so, had more chances but when you miss so many and make errors you get punished.

- Kane looks like his spark is gone and I am not referring to putting the ball in the back of the net, let's use Janssen for a few games.

- Dier not as bad but Waynama deserves a chance with Dembele in the middle.

- play either Eriksen or Lamela not both, they are both players who basically want the number 10 role to link and pass, Alli and either Sissoko or Nukodou with their pace should start.

- Like Verts but should have done better on both goals, like to see Wimmer in sometimes.

- Wembley I thought was good for atmosphere other than of course when we went 2-0 down and their speakers are out of this world. Getting out with 90K or so is a nightmare though.

- proud of our fans for breaking the English home attendance record.

- can see why Poch/Levy wanted Isco, he really is the type of player we lack.
