I can see why having a creative Wingman could be more on the cards to having a central number 10, would be a real shame to break the midfield 3 of Dembele-Capoue/Sandro-Paulinho, all great athletes bullying the midfield

The great thing is, we looked more threatening than last season. That was not a boring game to watch, we was always looking to attack.

AVB is a very astute manager. Consolidated the team last season and still finished 5th despite being weakened, this season no building upon that consolidation with a greater attacking threat.

Brilliant stuff.

I love our midfield but I have to say that Sandro is still our most natural destroyer. He has that hunger. I'm sure there will be loads of rotation but I hope the big man gets plenty of game time. Paulinho was immense today though.......

Slightly disappointed that we didn't create too many good chances in the 2nd half, again we wasted a number of chances, but i guess it balances out and i feel overall we deserve the win.

Paulie was brilliant today, was really impress with the ball at his feet. 3points.... big sigh of relief.

we looked tired after 70 mins and no wonder too. We just need that last piece of the jigsaw to play behind Soldado - could it be Holtby or Erikksom.

Before the game I was afraid Townsend might not be fresh enough to give a proper account of himself; but man he is fit as a fiddle: 3 games in 7 days.

bit concerned about where the chances are going to be created more frequently from and who is going to put them away. gotta be much more decisive and clinical at the scum next weekend

A few creatives and we have the nucleus of a fantastic squad. We were so comfortable at the back.

Our midfield is so strong, Swansea's CMs visibly looked rattled second half. Almost as if they were throwing the towel in.

Paulinho is an outstanding player.

Never felt so confident about our defence. Didn't even go in to meltdown in the last 10 minutes. Add Lamela and another creative player and I think this could be a great season!
Agree completely, but it is important to add Lamela and another, not just Lamela. If we can push most of the money from Bale to one truly fantastic creative player then we will kill it. We just need one creative superstar like Silver, Mata etc then we will be a real force. At the moment we are just toothless in attack as we don't have anyone to conect the midfield and the forwards, Lamela will go someway to rectifying this but we still need something more.

good result, Paulinho is going to be fantastic!

The way we pressured swansea into making bad passes and our constant pressure to win the ball back was very Barca-esque dare i say.

Exactly.. well, close to Barca :) This is the reason why we need those 3 in midfield, controlling possession, limiting the supply through the middle. I love it. Opposition teams must totally hate seeing 'Dembele Capoue Paulinho' on our team sheet. :)

We seriously must have the best midfield (deeper) options in the League. Not to mention, goalkeeper.

If you were describing teams as cars...we'd be a Mustang, pure American muscle lol

Seriously though, I'm very excited. Great teams are built from the back - and have a very strong spine. We need that guile though. One big signing in this respect, in addition to Lamela, and we are the real deal.

Wow.

Bale... All you needed was one more year, just one more.

If we can see it, why can't you? Going to a two team league

You can't maintain such murderous momentum for 90 minutes - it's impossible. And it's also understandable that you sit a bit deeper after you score to play on the counter which this team was tailored for. All in all Swansea had one or two true moments of danger. If that is fading, then I will piss myself when we get our fitness up even more.

Was just commenting on what I saw, not criticising just commenting. Capoue in particular looked knackered in the second half and the knock on effect was we didn't have that hub in the centre of the park keeping the ball moving and things got a little bit scrappy.

Signs look very good though if we can sort out the two positions either side of Soldado to bring a real creative edge.

with the defence and midfield we should be very very tough to beat throughout the season. just the final 3rd we need to add to to make that final step up towards being title contenders.

work in progress with more signings to come most likely. at the end of the day we have won 2 out of 2. doesn't matter how you get the win its the points on the board that matters.

First half was great!
Second half good performance but seems we lost the midfield grip! after the goal, we seem to take feet off!
Two games...2 penalties...6 points
Would love to see us score in open play, corners, free kicks...
MOM: Townsend
Paulinho, Verts, Capoue (specially first half) : fantastic
Most underrated Spurs player : DEMBELE

Come on Spurs!!!
Rose at the moment, people seam to love to hate him. saw Swansea s Davis rated over him here, but Rose looks streets ahead.
