Alli I can kind of understand because even when he is out of form, he can still pop up with a goal to win you the match.

But him staying on is usually at the cost of Son, who is not only a constant goal threat but a constant thorn in the side of his opposing defenders - he's so much more direct and that's exactly what we needed more of today, not less!

Dier isn't good enough as a midfielder to play in midfield

I think he's a good enough midfielder to play defensive midfield alongside someone else, he's not good enough to be the only central midfielder. He hasn't got the ability to carry the ball past a player and open up space which we needed. He's a good passer but to be honest you'd need Modric levels considering how little space our and swanseas tactics allowed in final third most of the game.

The scary thing Is, I think Dier was better today than he was against Chelsea and Burnley where he was pretty woeful.

From my seat I didn't think Sissoko was bad until he got barged off the ball at around 50 minutes. As soon as that happened someone who's not acknowledged any thing decent he's done is on his feet "fucking hell Sissoko you're fucking shit" blah blah blah.
Just bugs me.

In the context of today's game, then I agree.

I'd still have kept Dele on, but taken the defensively minded Dier off instead.

I went to bed at 11pm, woke at 1am, didn't get back to sleep until about 4, then had to get up at 7.30 to take car to garage...
I'm knackered, and I can't just rock up at Wembley around 5pm as my lad is in the pre-match parade, so we have to be in there before 4.30.
Train times are shite, so we have to leave home around 2.15

We better bloody win....
What a lucky boy. How much did that set you back?
Didn't cost anything...
Got email on Tuesday inviting us to apply.
Seems the select a few blocks per game and just happens this week was block we had tickets for.

It was the one bright side to a poor day at Wembley.

Trips was a waste of one of the 11 on the left.
Aurrier didn't come on soon enough.
Dembélé should have replaced Dier at half time.
I'm not totally opposed to taking a dive against teams that don't want to play.

Same nonsense as Davies - if they're injured then they shouldn't be on the bench.

I never thought we'd see Poch have his favourites, but Dier and Alli look undroppable at the moment despite their poor showings.
Young players won't develop unless they play regularly, but will always have ups and downs in the meantime. If we want to end up with world class players we have to develop them as we can't afford to by them. This is what developing young players looks like.

Dier is good as a defensive midfielder, especially as one who can drop back and form a back 3.

But today we needed someone who can move the ball quicker and has a bit more attacking nous, especially in the 2nd half, Winks or Dembele would have done a much better job in the 2nd half than Dier.

You get that, I get that and most others on here get that yet Poch et al dont

MOTD showing the inconsistency in officiating. City getting away with challenges that our players were pulled up over today.

Starting XI raised a few eyebrows and it's always difficult against a side set up with ten defenders.

It was an average showing overall with a few below par performances ( Dier, who really shouldn't be that influential in such games anyway, and of course, Dele ). What worries me most is three games in and Wembley is a genuine issue. Last season we were outstanding at home and games like today you just had the feeling we'd break through eventually. So far this season you can feel the tension very early in games.
Personally I cannot wait to get away from the place! Too big, soulless, surrounding area is shit, journey there is shit, journey home is shit. Dress it up how we like but this season we simply do not have a home ground which means we have no chance at all of challenging for the title.

Annoying because although they played well, if agueros first and jesus's goal had been rightly called offside they too could've found themselves in the same position as us, being frustrated

And similarly if we'd got a bit of luck we could've gone on and thumped Swansea

Just seen city highlights

They are happy with playing a back 4 and Fernandinho

They have 5 creative players in their correct positions starting. We have 3 in their correct positions with Son at LWB

Main differnce is we play Sanchez and sissoko and they play sterling and jesus

All I hear from Spurs is we need to make this our home. Not going to happen I was at the Dortmund game which was awesome, but the atmosphere was shocking to say the least. No where near the same as The Lane , the away game atmosphere is amazing. We just cannot generate the same at Wembley. On Weds all you could hear was the Dortmund fans the home support was like a library . So they need to realise it's not going to be our home. I cannot wait until we are back at the lane because Wembley is awful cheers gang COYS

We were unlucky today but in all honesty we have to be more imaginative in order to break down defensive anti-football teams like Swansea.

Yep, I'm all for a solid defence, but I'm just not a fan of two sitting CM's. Particularly if neither of them have a good range of passing. And this is even more of an issue when playing against bus parking teams and considering we've adopted a 3 at the back approach.

Toby and Verts are great ball playing CB's, but they are still CB's and it's simply unnecessary to have 4 or 5 players just passing to each other in the centre circle.

In short, we need more creative players out there in these games in particular. Eriksen can't do everything on his own.

Guys I think we're being a bit over critical should have had 2 pens minimal and thought generally we found ways through the parked bus just didn't catch a break with the keeper and a horse shit ref.

Think Poch needs to take the majority of the blame for today's draw. 3 central defenders and a defensive midfielder at home to Swansea was a baffling decision and the less said about Son at LWB the better.

The players don't get off Scot free though, as it still has'nt sunk in that we need to move the ball around faster from the first whistle, not from just the 2nd half. When we did start to move the ball quicker in the 2nd half, we looked a lot more dangerous.

THIS!

Business as usual in here I see - we win and it's because the other lot were shit/depleted/whatever, we fail to win and it's because we're shit.

Swansea did what most teams attempt to do against us and all the other top teams - it just so happens that today their luck was in as Fabianski made 3 or 4 top saves and Mike Dean made 1 or 2 bad calls. For most teams on most days against us their luck will not hold up for the whole 90 minutes.
