Come on Tottenham!

If theres one thing we have learnt over past few years is that this team has character

Dele has clearly bought into his own hype and believes he's bigger than Spurs. The only game he's given a fraction of a fuck about this season was Madrid.

He's in the worst form of his life and thoroughly deserves to be dropped, but our other options in central and attacking midfield are somehow even worse.

We NEED to bring in someone in January to light a fire under our underperforming players. I'd be perfectly content with a budget option like Barkley or Meyer (who has found his best form in years playing in central midfield) in the last six months of their contract. If we stand still we really risk dropping out of the top four, or league form is absolutely dreadful.
This can't be emphasised enough, totally agree.

No point in having tripps on in this game if he ain't getting crosses in. Even from deep, he should be swinging the odd one in, giving them a problem

If he doesn't deliver up to 60mins we should get Aurier on and get him to drive the flank. He loves getting early balls in. They're not always the best quality but we have to keep kicking the door until it caves in.

Couldn’t disagree more, pointless having a rb trying to drive in behind when they are sitting so deep they’re leaving about 6 cm’s of space to run into.

We miss Rose and Walkers pace so much vs teams like this.
They would how gotten behind the defense stretching the opposition, something Davies and Trippier can't do making us so predictable.

How could they have got in behind a defence sitting so deep?

I'd take Dier off and put Llorente on and give Kane, Ali and Eriksen a rocket up their arse at HT!

Trippier and Davies as a pair are useless in these types of games. This is where we miss Walker or Rose. Having two average speed full backs just doesn't work at Wembley against these type of teams. Amount of times Trippier had chance to try and take left back on but didn't because he's not fast enough, get Aurier on at half time.

He's quite obviously not a poor player. He looks tired and out of form but there's no one to replace him in the squad to keep him in peak condition.

Ye, I meant at the moment, not that he is a poor player all the time. :p

Shouldn't be bringing on subs for the sake of it, especially when they are Sissoko, Dembele and Llorente. What more would they offer in a game like this?

Dembele at least is able to control a football unlike Alli. Aurier will at least try to run at defenders and be more dynamic than Backpass-Trippier.

Fuming on the phone talking to a Mirror reporter ...

Joking!

Probably on one game a week considering the lengthy lay off he has had.

So he's not fit enough for a place on the bench after playing well in Europe?

Of course he is.

I'm not sure about Poch's handling of this situation. He's a great attacking option in a game like this.

Would like another Son in the team. He has to be above Dele at this point headed forward. He just challenges so many more defenders.

Harry has been so isolated these past couple games he is reverting back to his “do it alone” tactics.

Time for a good old four-four-fackin'-two. Kane and Llorente up top, Son and Sissoko on the wings, lump it into the box early.

Completely agree, have said this before many times too. We need proper wingbacks against these sort of tactics. Need players who actually want to run at defenders. Look at Son, only positive in this game is when he runs at defenders.

Well I just gave my view, I mean everyone is entitled to read into it what they want ...

Ok, I've had a few beers and I wouldn't have been on the gifted and talented register at school had it existed when I was in education but does anyone else think that we're not capable of competing competitively in the league and the CL in the same week? We just seem so lifeless this season

Our previous results against teams who sit back at Wembley suggests we're either going to lose 1-0 or get a 1-1 draw at best.

I'm not sure if it was WHL but I have very little interest in our home games this season.

Completely disagree.

It doesn't matter. There is nothing through the middle. They have not been under enough proper duress/pressure and the only way for us to manufacture that is by turning their heads with balls in/across the danger area and making the game as uncomfortable as possible for them.

Son has done a sterling job of trying to penetrate from the other side and that is where all our genuine threat has come from.

If we're not playing accurately in between them with cunning runs off the ball and we're not going to get in behind them, there is no point coming out for the second half.
