to be honest i'd prefer us to forget about this deal and concentrate all efforts on a defensive midfielder and a 3rd forward - that is where the depth appears to be lacking

Have to agree with the defensive midfielder, or atleast a ball winning grab the game by the scruff of the neck player (which is something we lack and often needed in away day premier league games I feel)

I will admit I dont know enough about Corluka, other then reading that he is a right back by trade. If he can play effectively there and centre back he would offer us better quality cover and challange for first team spots then Zokora currently does.

As for the third striker I suppose it depends on wheter Berbatov will stay and what system we will play.

We have several players who could fill the role of 'second striker' or the player in the hole behind a one of front, (Lennon, Modric, Bentley, Dos Santos) plus we have Berbatov and Bent who can play together or with any of the players I mentioned previously.

I think we are more weak in defense and central midfield in terms of overall depth then we are in attacking options.

It doesn't appear to any of these
It seems that after the papers were signed Citeh decided to have a change of heart. The rumour is that Hughes found out about it and was not a happy bunny and so they pulled the plug.

Once you've signed on the dotted line.....

The good thing is though we won't have to rely on those yellow bellies at the FA to make a decision - because we are a PLC its for the courts.

Isn't there a 'cooling off' period for any contract that is agreed? Probably only consumer law, but it would be interesting to know if there was such get out!

Will indeedy be interesting to see how this one pans out. Not massively bothered if we do get him to be honest although he may be needed if Hutton is out for a few months.

Man City's current plight as well as Liverpool's and the Spammers is exactly why I prefer to keep Daniel Levy in charge rather than some so called billionaire - even at Chelski there's the risk Ambramovich might get bored and leave 'em in the poo poo.

If what has been posted on all those Man City sites is anywhere near the truth and Man City are really in the shit - then I can see Hughes leaving this week and Man City receiving a 20-point (or so) deduction, similar to the sort of penalties that have been handed out to Leeds, Luton etc - albeit under different circumstances.

Perhaps the fans can bail the club out and turn it into a plc, in time. Clearly, Spurs has shown that it is the best way to run a financially secure and sfae football club.

They may get relegated, have to sell their players etc, but I can't see it being the end of one of the oldest clubs, just because of one dodgy Thai twat.

Anyhow, that is all a long way off. Season starts in 5 days. We don't need Corluka right now (but soon). Bring it on !!!

COYS

I really hope daniel levy doesn't sell our club to some twonk who could do this to us. I feel for man city fans. Still, looks like we have a great season coming up! Team is FiRe atm

Only applies to mortgages, loans, credit cards and other contracts where there is a danger that someone could be pressurised or "mis-sold" into taking on a debt that they cannot afford.

There is far too much contradiction and speculation surrounding this whole situation to make any sense of the truth. I'm sure once the dust has settled, we will have a clearer understanding.

IMO, Hughes threatened to resign if he was sold, so at the 11th hour Citeh, probably reluctantly pulled the deal to ensure they still had a manager. Whether this deal will ever be reignited, who knows!!
