About half a dozen times last night. Can people not check to see if something has been posted already. We had that Bluemoon post repeated several times aswell over the weekend.

Anyway, the Goat says this one is far from off.

its all hotting up rather nicely now. What started out as a transfer deal could now be the incident which essentially blows apart the whole football club...

i just cant imagine hughes coming out and saying what he said without being 100% confident that the deal could be stopped.
unless hughes was mis-informed but if that happened i'd well imagine he will resign in protest.
i just cant see it happening but hopefully i will be wrong

Apropos of something, I'm reliably informed that odds on Hughes being the first manager to leave were 22-1 last week, 3-1 at 8am BST this morning and are now 6-4.

I really hope Spurs don't add more fuel to the fire storm that seems evident at Man City. I'd much rather we keep our long historic friendship as clubs than a bitter hatred over a player.

If the clubs had already agreed a transfer fee with City and we'd been given permission to speak with Corluka and the player had agreed terms and a contract signed then we are within our rights to have it checked out in law terms.

If all those conditions had not been met IE all was agreed but no contract signed and City decided to pull the deal, we should just leave the matter, and take it on the chin.

If city pulled the deal its their decision but if we have actually faxed signed documents to the FA with Corluka signing for us then City have pulled the plug why should we take it on the chin?... Yes its always nice to have friends in football but would Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or United take it on the chin we all know they wouldnt and i dont we should either

Read clearfully what I wrote.

We should only take it on the chin if a contract was not signed.

even if the contract wasnt signed...If Corluka has come out and said he wants to go to us its going to be hard for them to keep him there. All they can realistically hope for now is a higher price from us...

not if they have signed a contract already. If all the documents are signed and Corluka still wishes to join us then there is nothing that Man City can do to keep him and they can not change any of the specifics of the deal.

to be honest i'd prefer us to forget about this deal and concentrate all efforts on a defensive midfielder and a 3rd forward - that is where the depth appears to be lacking

lol what a mess .. gonna be interesting to see what happens here

If what has been posted on all those Man City sites is anywhere near the truth and Man City are really in the shit - then I can see Hughes leaving this week and Man City receiving a 20-point (or so) deduction, similar to the sort of penalties that have been handed out to Leeds, Luton etc - albeit under different circumstances.

Perhaps the fans can bail the club out and turn it into a plc, in time. Clearly, Spurs has shown that it is the best way to run a financially secure and sfae football club.

They may get relegated, have to sell their players etc, but I can't see it being the end of one of the oldest clubs, just because of one dodgy Thai twat.

Anyhow, that is all a long way off. Season starts in 5 days. We don't need Corluka right now (but soon). Bring it on !!!

i don't understand if it was a problem with the fee and therefore City rejecting or if, like some papers are saying, Corluka did a U-turn and rejected us himself?

bastards.

The problem was with Hughes rejecting it.

It doesn't appear to any of these
It seems that after the papers were signed Citeh decided to have a change of heart. The rumour is that Hughes found out about it and was not a happy bunny and so they pulled the plug.

Once you've signed on the dotted line.....

The good thing is though we won't have to rely on those yellow bellies at the FA to make a decision - because we are a PLC its for the courts.
