so what makes sissoko a 20m/30m player when chadli's only a 9m/13m player?

That wasn't my point. I wasn't saying anything about the actual values of those players.

I was just talking about the inflation in existing prices. The TV deal turned £9m players into £13m players, £20m players into £30m players, and £60m players into £90m players, overnight. Whether those players were worth £9m, £20m or £60m to begin with is a different matter.

At the end of the day everyone wanted levy to back the manager. He's done that.

We on paper seem to have a stronger squad than last season. Hopefully we do well. We'll only know if the season was a success at the end.

Cl is great but we needa trophy. COYS

with the squad we have now, providing we stay clear of too many injuries, we can field a youth with experience in the EFL, if we get to the semis we can play a stronger XI as CL groups will be done.

the FA Cup if we get a weak team in the 3rd we can follow the EFL, but if we don't we now have a strong 1st team squad to be able to rotate and compete.

with the CL, the only way we win that is doing a Chelsea that dreaded season, but they had the breaks that went right up to the last Bayern pen.

On Wednesday, French newspaper L’Equipe have a feature on Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy. L’Equipe explain how Tottenham have progressed under Levy since he joined the club in 2001.

Former Tottenham’s director of sport Damien Comolli has also been speaking to L’Equipe. Comolli believes Levy has a huge desire to bring success to Tottenham.

Comolli explained: “He’s obsessed with the desire to move forward with Tottenham. When you see where the club was when he arrived and what he has done, it’s absolutely fantastic.”

Comolli says Tottenham have progressed more than any other club in Europe over the last 15 years under Levy.

He added: “Tottenham are surely the club in Europe that has progressed most on all fronts in fifteen years, and thanks to him.”

Do they?

I've heard many fans moan and throw criticism at him but never heard anyone who would want him out (aside for a lotto win Oil baron who could have turned us in to a title winning CL winning team over night fantasy perhaps)

I don't use Twitter and I've only seen people complaining about him on here not suggesting he should go

I guess I must have missed it

When was it that a small number of fans tried to do a protest against Levy? Only had a handful turn out.
Was that 2 years ago or more?

Probably three I think, and a handful is pushing it a bit, pretty sure it was just these 2...

Just in case it hasn't been posted yet.

Man, that video is great. Anyone that is under illusions about the progress of this club merely needs to watch this and try to be patient for a little longer. The new stadium is going to change everything.

The club will be able to afford higher wages and thus be able to compete for the top players in the world and that will always be one of the keys to getting to the next level, e.g. competing every year for the league title, regular CL qualification and of course, winning trophies.

Man Utd proved with their weak league performances in the past few seasons that as long as you can compete financially then it isn't as difficult to re-establish your position in the top 4.

We'll still be a long way off the top teams financially. Only trophies and regular cl will help us close the gap. Hopefully the stadium will help us achieve that.

And help keep our best players by giving them big salaries.

I'm not so sure. By the time we're in it (and even if that were tomorrow) all the new stadium will now give us is the ability to compete against the so called 'bigger' clubs and West Ham. Even Liverpool are now pushing at the 60k capacity door and they haven't had to build a completely new ground to get it. Newcastle have had a massive ground for ages and if they ever get their acts right there's another one knocking at the door.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying we won't be better off but it isn't outrageous to suggest we might not be. I ain't counting no chickens........Unless i'm making sure KFC haven't stiffed me in my 16 piece bucket that is......:D

Oh and well done Daniel Levy, Champions League ain;'t nothing to be sniffed at. Mind you, when one is as short as he is about the only thing you can sniff at is a yorkshire terriers ringpiece.
