I've decided that I blame Man United for this fiasco now. If they'd just not pissed about on the last day and actually tried to beat West Ham, then West Ham would have gone down and everyone would have been able to move on. Frankly they don't deserve to have Tevez for playing like such fairies on the last day.

Seriously though what a magnificent mess this is. MSI wouldn't have bought this claim if they didn't think they had a fairly good chance of winning. And if that happens then I think Sheffield United will have a fairly good go at sueing the Premier League.

Perhap it will teach the PL to actually deal with these issues when they arise rather than bottling them and waiting to see what happens.

Well well well. This could get interesting. I very much doubt it will be sorted by the end of the window though.

I think this will go quiet fairly soon.

It was pretty complicated to start with, but the media will lose interest as soon as they feel that the general public can't understand it, it already needs quite a bit of explaining as it is.

You try just sitting down and explaining to someone that knows nothing about football the current situation, it's really difficult without going back into 2006, that's a lot of story to tell.

Not too many have been in this thread and that's because no-one really wants to touch it. Not sure if Tevez is in a good position because everyone wants him, or a bad position because he's going to be stuck due to the fact he's 'owned' by MSI.

The reason that MSI chose to sue in the High Court instead of going to the Court of Arbitration is that in the High Court, the evidence will be discussed and reported.

The CAS would just give a decision that cannot be appealed and not offer any reasons as to how they reached.

I disagree kinger. I think we've got a way to go yet, and there's enough interest to keep it on the back pages, if not the front - not least because the self-styled 'biggest club in the world' is waiting for CT when it's all resolved.

Have you not noticed though how the reports already seem to have most of the fact stripped out of them.

Look at today's report from Sky Sports.

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx...d=1&lid=3&title=Ferguson:+Tevez+is+our+player

It's an article thread bare of any facts, a sign of where this story is starting to go. Admittedly it is Sky not the BBC, and it's probably a slow news day, but it's a sign that whilst people may care about the outcome, they're no so interested in the facts anymore.

Look at this thread, it's slowed down significantly, and it's the same people posting over and over, there are very few people who understand this anymore, and we are some of the few pretenders who would like to think this is still an interesting story.

This is how the Gov.spin works.

I see that an out of court settlement is now being hinted at.

Surprise surprise.

And an interesting quote from Man Yoo's David Gill:

"Clearly, this is a dispute between Tevez, the owners and West Ham," stated Gill.

Surely West Ham are the owners?

For once I agree with TSH

United play like a bunch of muppets on the last day of the season, let Tevez save West Ham, inflicting punishment on "innocent" (yet pretty crap) Sheff Utd, and then wanna buy Tevez!!!

United should be docked 54 points for their involvement.......

This just in: The Tevez Affair tipped to outlast The Mousetrap when it hits London's West End as a reality musical.

And 5Live has just announced that August 22 is the date when this will go to court. So plenty of time for Spam Utd to weasel their way out of it.

SSN have reported that KJ has submitted a contract that has been signed by WHU and Tevez in December, which confirms KJ's ownership of the player.

This contract was signed after Egg tore up the previous agreement, WHU are claiming that its not Tevez's signature!!

Official Club Statement

West Ham United will continue to work on achieving an out-of-court settlement on the issues relating to Carlos Tevez.

However, if a settlement, to be agreed by all parties, is not possible then the Club will present a very robust legal case to the High Court if the matter comes before the court on August 22nd.

If they were that confident of victory in the courts, they wouldn't even be bothering with the out of court settlement.

As I said some time ago in this thread I would imagine there is almost no chance of West Ham winning the legal case. But to be honest having kept themselves in the premiership I'm sure they don't actually care that much.

I dont think its a matter of not being confident. Probably a matter of wanting the whole saga settled ASAP in the cheapest way possible.

I think all parties will prefer an out of court settlement, not just WHU.

That's a whole other board game! :)

I can't really see there being an out of court settlement on this one. It's been so protracted that I can't see either party standing down.
