I merely relayed the story. I have no idea whether or not there is any truth in it - and, frankly, I don't care. It wasn't the point. The point was that if Kane is made to stay but the fans get on his back or continue to abuse his family, it will only have a detrimental effect on our season.

But not a discussion for this thread anyway.

It’s one of the most famous (and hilarious) myths in the long history of dodgy ITK. And just to clarify why it was so funny - it was said right before Modric moved to Madrid

Just to clarify why you’re barking up the wrong tree, the pre-season game in question was in summer 2011 - before his final season at White Hart Lane and a full year before he moved to Madrid. But you carry on doing you since it so obviously amuses you.

Fantastic, bit of casual racism there.

Do better please.

A bit embarrassed To ask this and it might be because we in different countries so it's missed on me... but what was racist in this....genuine question for education sake.

They compared Son to a baddy from The Raid, no? That’s casual racism

Don’t know who they’re referring to specifically, not that it matters, but on a base level comparing an Asian person to a baddie in a martial arts movie is casually racist.

Add in that most actors in The Raid are Indonesian and Son is Korean and the comment suggests Asian people all look the same, which of course they don’t, and that they can’t recognise the difference, which is fairly notable

As if you’re getting that angry about a ribbing of some famously bad ITK you took seriously, have a sit down and a nice cup of tea, not everything has to be so serious

Likely a reference to ‘Mad Dog’ or the ‘Machete Gang’. And to the best of my knowledge, neither breaks any legs. But, they sure as hell get royally fucked up by Rama.

And to anyone who is a fan of action, and haven’t seen The Raid or Raid 2, for shame. Two of the best action films from the last ten years.

On a more serious note, @guiltyparty … thanks for drawing a line under this. Implied or casual bigotry isn’t always intended, but is still offensive. If someone tells another that their comment could be interpreted as such… take a moment to reflect and learn. I know the impulse is to feel defensive when it seems as though you’ve been ‘shamed’. But, try to take it on face value, that the intent to teach is embedded within the initial feedback. Oh, and no one is squeaky clean when it comes to this. We all have and will continue to stumble into these things from time to time. In the majority of such instances, it is simply a case of awareness. Not because the person is inherently racist.

Wolves Pre-match Thread

3 things I hope for today are….

A good reception for Nuno
A wolves win
Harry Kane injuries himself whilst diving and ****s up his big money move to Man City which means that Spurs have no money to buy Adama

Someone told me that Wolves are the only team in the Premiership that Son hasn’t scored against!!
Make of that what you will.
I believe we’ll win 2-1. Spurs to get a consolation goal at the death, scored by that man SON!

Post Match Thread

Spurs - I don't know if that was typical Nuno because I've never seen us really battered like we battered Spurs today. We were always more compact and even though we conceded four a few times, that was more because we had a bad 10 or 20 mins and never a full game like that was. Frankly, Spurs deserved nothing from that game and most of their fans, if they are honest, will know they got away with that today.

****ing fuming still. Played really well and deserved more but when will the ****in FA do something about the refs? You can bet your **** if we have a similar penalty shout this season it gets over ruled by VAR.

A word on Spurs. They were absolutely dire.
Dele Ali is a cheat too

We showed real attacking intent in the 2nd half against Leicester and we pretty much maintained it all game against spurs today. We totally outplayed them and if it wasn't for that diving ****, we'd have come out with a point.

Spurs were dour cheats.

Spurs fans are not going to accept nuno ball if he ever drops a few results - surprised how poor they were.

I agree with Sa - he was brilliant today. I love how he distributes quickly.
It's a shame that he has a torso for that cheating **** to throw himself into.

Spurs 3
Dismal, boring Burnley ball. Time wasting terribly. Don't miss Nuno

We just got Nuno'd today but be thankful we only have to watch that once more this season. One or two goals, the confidence will surge and we will be a match for anyone.

To be fair, we've struggled against them under poch! It's not just systems that impact how you play, it's how the players behave under pressure. We played a vastly superior team last week and grew into the game, but city were passive and slow. Wolves were much more aggressive and quick. The players just didn't respond well enough and weren't brave enough with the ball.

I'm hoping that we won't continue to play like that away from home because there are a good few teams who are able to put the pressure on the way that wolves did today!

Bluemoon: "I don't know much about Daniel Levy but is it possible his unwillingness to let Kane go to City had something to do (tread carefully here) with his feelings about the ethnicity of MCFC's owners?"

What absolute racist twaddle

People who still deny that sportswashing is a thing need to take a long hard look at Man City fans, PSG fans and what Newcastle fans posted during the Saudi takeover saga. It's complete, utter brainwashing in the name of sport.

The guy is right, he does know f**k all about Levy. Levy is a c**t to deal with regardless of who you are and your ethnicity.

I can really see Daniel in his office having received a £200m bid thinking "nah, they're Middle Eastern. Not selling to them". He wouldn't sell to Abramovich either - does that mean he doesn't like Jewish people?

Oh and well played Levy and the club on this one. Played a blinder.
