Antony and Raphinha were very lively for Brazil when they entered the field tonight.

Raphinha is probably a bit out of reach but Antony is even better, a lot of technical quality and he can deliver in the final third too.
Would love him in that RW spot, he is a brilliant player. But he will be very expensive i reckon..

Mate Newcastle will blow everyone out of the water , including city they will pay wages even city won’t pay
Yea, they can pay the wages but some players will want elite top end football now inspite of cash. ``~~~~Whilst Newcastle league position is low , some won't go.
We gotta jump ahead now before its to late.

I think if Newcastle avoids relegation this season they'll be getting some real quality in starting from next summer. I also doubt Potter will leave Brighton for them unless that happens.

There are so many excellent bosman transfers available in Summer 2022 that I'd hope Paratici will be busy getting some pre-contract deals signed.

Either Ginter or Romagnoli would make good partners at the back for Romero. Kessie would fit into the PL really well I think and Belotti is out of contract at Torino this summer and would be another that I think the PL would suit.

One player who would cost money that I would love to see the club working on is Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague. I think this Summer would be our last chance to get him before he is only on the table for the really big boys. A January deal that leaves him at Sparta for the second half of the season could be a really sensible one.

I read an interesting article yesterday which analysed players stats to try and find the best Dembele replacement.

It was quite in depth and looked at a series of categories to produce a result. The most optimal replacement is apparently Bruno Guimaraes at Lyon. Looks a really good player and aligned with this analysis, it might be worth looking at.

Here is the article for those who are interested:

Didn’t paratici offer ridiculously high wages to free transfer players whilst at Juve? Ramsey comes to mind.

It would be a good move for everyone. With their new money we may could push them to around 30m, money we desperately need to improve our creative/goal scoring department.

We really need a creative playmaker happy to play right side.

With Son on left we need someone less direct and more creative on other side to balance things out a bit more.

Moura is too workman-like and a bit flat for me if we’re also playing Son and Kane.

Bale was ideal for that right side as was so creative.

Agreed, we need a creator on the right of the first XI.

One of Pedro Goncalves (Pote), Christopher Nkunku, Lucas Paqueta, Raphina, Antony, or much more reasonably, Adama – would be great.

Are we likely to be busy in January - I had assumed that the squad rebuild would happen over 3-4 windows for sure but increasingly January has become such a reactive market - is it realistic to see us signing the players we need in the medium to long term in this coming window ?
I can see Fabio doing deals for players (including freebies for the summer if the deal is right) for the summer but not a huge amount else - or am I being too cynical ?

That was his remit as Juve have/had a win now approach to scouting and player recruitment and were able to offer some obscene amounts of money.

You would like to think that there is recognition that we are struggling creatively and should have brought in a striker. I would like to see what Paratici has been planning for January.

This is good when you get it right, but look at Juve now, they have a bunch of players like Ramsey and Rabiot that they’d love to shift but can’t cos they are on huge wages thanks to their Bosmans.
Whilst I agree, I can’t see Levy breaking the wage structure. I think we’d offer a very good salary but make up the difference with loyalty and signing on bonuses

Couple more players I’d like us to go for from the championship are attacking midfielder Ovie Ejaria of Reading and Fulham centre back Tosin Adarabioyo. Also new Wales debutant Sorba Thomas is worth keeping an eye on, a fast direct winger with a trick or two who excels at set pieces and is having a good start to the season with Huddersfield after his jump from Boreham Wood. We have had a couple good Welsh wingers, Simon Davies and Gareth Bale.

In terms of free transfers, Kessie is the obvious one and been linked. Been poor so far to begin the season though, his technical levels have fluctuated throughout matches. But last season was top.

I would like a top class RW, but I also think Gil can be that given time, so it’s a difficult one. Raphinha and Antony already mentioned earlier in the thread, and Antony has been on fire so far this season. Moussa Diaby another one who has been electric for leverkusen for 2 seasons now. Been linked with Kulusevski, still a massive talent, but a different winger profile than I think would be ideal.

Creativity is interesting, and I know many see it as our biggest need, but Lo Celso and/or Gil I think can be a big solution here. Tanguy too, even though it’s not really his game. But if it’s something the club want, I’d go all out for Lucas Paqueta. Seems to have added a clinical edge to his game this season. A real flair player who is playing really well in a false 9 role for Lyon this season, but has tenacity that allows him to play in midfield, which is his natural position.

Whether in January or next summer, a striker is a huge need. Big money would be Isak, probably the edge of our pull IMO, because he is still at Sociedad. Vlahovic will be a bit cheaper because of his contract. If we don’t feel we need a central focal point, Jonathan David, Karim Adeyemi, and Amine Gouiri are all young and have massive potential to improve on their already consistent production. A wild card would be Arthur Cabral, who is too good for Basel and the Swiss league. Earned his first Brazil call up this month. Victor Osimhen is my wish, but that’s probably too expensive and a sideways step for him.

Do you an opinion on Wout Weghorst? And whether he would be any good in the prem.
