2nd but still pretty good
Probably 3rd - behind WC and Olympics (the top women still play in the Olympic tournament)

But, a great achievement. I'd say 7 of the top-10 countries are in Europe, so winning Euros is the best of the confederation cups. But, missing US, Canada, Brazil, and to a lesser extent China and Australia puts it a step below the full International tournaments.

Lot of salty Germans on Twitter complaining about home ref bias, how they never got a decision, how it was a definite pen, we should have had two red cards. Etc. have to say, it’s glorious.

I think you're taking about the American women's team? They were more successful than the men's team, were playing to bigger crowds and TV audiences than the men's team and were generating more money for the FA then the men's team so wanted equal pay. Asking for a fair wage doesn't really mean that all the female players want to be compared to male players each game.
It’s happening-

It's not really been that way in the UK, at least not that I've ever noticed.
The womens game pretty much the same support and coverage as the men's.

I think Wimbledon being a massive part of our national sporting calendar helps that here though. With the lovely Sue Barker having hosted the tv coverage here for the past 30 odd years with a good spread of female pundits and commentators.
It could probably be argued that the women's game over here was more popular than the men's for a while.
i much prefer watching women’s tennis. And I like watching women play golf as much as I like watching the mens game.
But I just don’t like watching the women play football. Sorry not sorry.

I have to admit, I struggled getting into the women’s game, I watched bits of yesterday and cheered the win and goals.

it’s an entirely different game, I’d like to see the women play with smaller goals though, I think that would make it a lot more competitive for the women’s game, but overall the game has come on leaps and bounds over the years, chuffed for the win!

Just seen this and couldn’t agree more ? why is it always the good keepers have something a bit scary about them.

I don't understand the smaller goals argument. If all the games were ending up 7-6 after 90mins then I could understand. But the games all have pretty normal scorelines. Yes the keepers are not as tall on average as the mens but the women also have a bit less power in their shots as well to compensate. The keeping standard at this euros has been very good I think, a much higher level than it has been before. And the technical level of the women is improving massively and I can only see that going the same way.

Good chance to see a few of these Lionesses at whl in the wsl opener as Spurs ladies face Man utd. We currently hold the record for biggest wsl attendance of 38k vs Arsenal in 2019. Interesting to see if that record still stands come the end of this season.
