I make it 12 included Vorm before academy players get a spot

Is that including Janssen?
He isn't part of the squad.

We have 24 players who are part of the CL squad that have played more than a few mins for us this season.

So we should be OK, if players can get fit

Just some thoughts.

It wasn't too long ago that Dele had one of his best games in a spurs shirt when he played CM against Liverpool. So I would be happy with him next to Sissoko.

Also, am I correct in thinking that we still share a record with Man United for winning at least 1 trophy every decade? This season being our last chance to maintain said record??
We are indeed. Since the 1950s I believe.

Arrange a couple of friendlies for match practice and go with the following for the final:

............................... Lloris .............................

Aurier... Alderweireld... Vertonghen... Rose

...................... Sissoko... Winks.......................

........ Moura......... Eriksen ........ Son .............

............................... Kane ................................

11/12 subs?

Gazzaniga, Tripe, KW-Peters, Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Wanyama, Skipp, Alli, Lamela, Llorente

It’s written in the stars - Liverpool, spend circa £200m and win zilch, Spurs spend zilch and win the Champions League :D

I think this is no doubt our best lineup right now.

Seriously, when Dele is available has Poch ever not picked him in any big game?

Dele will absolutely start.
You are absolutely right.....................then again, Pock played Son at LWB in his first FA Cup Semi final, so you never know.

Hugo

KWP Toby Jan Rose

Winks Sissoko

Dele Eriksen Son

Kane

Hoping that Winks is fit. If not, drop Eriksen back and bring in Lucas.

Really hope not to see Trippier trying to defend against the energy of Robertson and Mane, especially since he's spent half of recent games holding his hammy as if he's injured. (Plus I think he's a bit shit)

Looks as if trippier is down to start, which will be a weak link against mane and robertson running from deep too. I really hope he can find a world cup performance if he does play.

If we have a fully fit team to choose from it'll be interesting as to what poch does.

Attacking wise Liverpool are so dangerous as we know, we'll need a monster defensive performance. But we showed at anfield we can get at them when we want too and cause them problems.

Next 3 weeks is gonna be so sloooow:nailbiting:

think a very big risk to start Winks, Kane and Aurier, would go maybe 1 or 2

Hugo
Trips Verts(Sanchez if injured) Toby Rose
Sissoko Dier
Dele Eriksen Son
Kane

Hard on Moura but if Kane is fit he has to play, think we will need Dier with only 4 at the back to stop us being so open

Personally think it will be:

Lloris

Trippier - Toby - Jan - Rose

Dele - Sissoko - Eriksen

Son - Kane - Lucas

Subs - Gazza, Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Lamela, Llorente.

Essentially matching Liverpool with the 4-3-3 and see how we get on. Big big night for our defence as Liverpool are so dangerous going forward!

Their attack is definitely a challenge, interestingly though, i think their Barca game showed us a lot of what we can do to be effective against them.

For me, the key in that game was the midfield battle/desire to win the ball. Liverpool had it and Barca failed to get on it, as a result of winning the ball, often in the opposition half, it really allowed Liverpool to run riot.

We have to deprive them of their supply. You can try and mark up their frontline and then deal with being overloaded on the flanks but that just gives their midfield more time to press. Key for us is retaining the ball IMO and being clinical when we create. They will carve out chances but we want those chances to be potshots and gambles, not them carving us apart.

Additionally this is as much a game of heart than it is tactics. Who handles the pressure, who is ready to fight for every ball, every yard.

4-3-3, match Liverpool and lets see who comes out on top.
Lloris
Aurier Vertonghen Alderweireld Rose
Sissoko
Eriksen Winks
Son Kane Lucas

I want Dele but we need 2 midfielders that have a defensive mind against a side like Liverpool...

As harsh as it is, assuming Kane and Winks are fit I think we need to drop Moura and go with Dele, Eriksen, Kane and Son.

They are so good together it's no coincidence that we've struggled a bit this year and they've only played 9 or 10 games together. Normally i'd be all over the form players and Lucas has done brilliantly but this is a CL final, no room for sentiment. I remember Poch shoe-horning Son in for the Chelsea semi at LWB - I hope he's learnt from that.

Can't see Klopp dropping Firminho for an in form Origi

I have given some thought about this game now since the semis win. First things first - We have to acknowledge they are currently better XI than ours. They have been playing well & getting results. We have been just okish....If we play conventional sides in conventional way against them they are going to bulldoze past us. Last few times has been utter disaster in first half.

We may have a fit Kane stamina-wise, but knowing Kane after injury, he isnt going to be mobile. IMO, he will be less effective in lone striker role. If Winks is fit to start only then I would play this XI. I would drop Eriksen & Son to the bench & play Lucas & Llorente up top.

IMO, we got to give every chance for Kane to make the difference. He is best creator on ball this season & also the attacker.

I would play 4-3-1-2 with Kane at the tip, playing no10. He could interchange with Lucas at times.

Liverpool will press us very hard in the first 30 to 45minutes. We got to play a deeper line than usual, absorb the pressure and go long at every opportunity. By having Kane, Lucas,Llorente playing close to each other, we could get the opportunity to attack VVD & Matip. Sissoko & Dele are runners. Winks to recycle and keeps possession as much as possible.

Lloris,
Aurier, Toby, Jan,Rose
Sissoko,Winks,Dele,
Kane
Lucas, Llorente

Its easy decision to put Son & Eriksen in this XI but IMO, it could be counter productive with Kane being not match fit fully as lone striker.
