I'm off for a very strange and severe wank.

I don't know the business of football as well as you guys, but...

I understand Levy is a hardball-playing businessman, but lately, at least on the surface, it seems to me that his desire to get the best deal has been muddled with his desire to stroke his own ego.

He's known as shrewd so he plays up to that...and sometimes perhaps goes too far?

Every businessman I've ever known - even the ones 'addicted to haggling' (as someone said of Levy in a previous post) has always had a point where they realized that the time for haggling was over or there was a great risk of screwing the deal.

I'm not saying that's what Levy has done here. I wasn't there. I don't know the man.

Impressions are all I have, though, and from what I've seen the last three years, it's not that he's addicted to haggling, he's addicted to 'winning' negotiations.

This is a fair post. Whilst Levy is a very shrewd businessman, that doesn't mean he excels in the art of sales negotiation, which is essentially what is going on here.

The annoying thing is half these idiot Spurs fans now berating Levy due to his underhand tactics are the same ones who post tripe like 'LOL YOU GOT LEVY'D' when a deal does go through for cheaper than we expected.

I ahve no idea if this has broken down and if it has if it's levys fault. But I hate this pervading attitude which has been created around us that we're difficult to work with and miserly. Its about Glory, not about money pinching accountancy. There will come a day where Levy will phone somebody up just to be told they wount even listen to an offer

From the Daily ITK thread thingy...

I will eat my own turd if bale leaves this summer.

Soldado is still on. He has a release cause and valencia are genuinely struggling financially. They wont stand firm or they can't stand firm.

patience there is a reason levy jr is out there.

You know how I know that's bullshit? The agreement in writing bit. Yeah. Easiest thing in the world to prove and yet...

He was just pissed he got out-Aulased after playing the pay up or no deal card all summer long.

The way I see it is that he has a release clause, of course we will haggle. We know that we can trigger it at any time in the next 10 days so that's why the business boys at spurs are trying to get it down. Easy for us to all say just pay it etc but it seems Valencia need the money and if they don't end up selling for our original offer I can see us whacking the release clause in etc. it's almost like a parachute in negotiations. I'm no business man but that's my view. I think we will get him.
