Tomorrow is MY birthday. What do we think - are Spurs going to give me a good present?!
Happy early birthday! Week after mine! But, don't get your hopes up. Spurs gave me a draw that felt like a loss, and the most undeserved point i've seen this year last week for my birthday.

So we potentially throw away progressing so the manager can swing his bollocks?
Managing is about dealing with difficult characters not throwing them out of the room.
Prawny, you will defend Ade ti the end of the world and back, wont ya?

It's not about swinging his bollocks. I've always defended Ade, but he's pissed off so many managers now that it's clear he's a disruption of some sort. You don't make a stand against a negative influence in the work place and then go seeking his assistance just because, on one occassion it might suit you. It's weak. And it shows a lack of confidence in the players that have got on board with your vision and standards from the outset.

I understand the temptation. But it's weak. Simple as that.

Spot on !!

I'm confused - if Poch is making choices based on Levy as you suggested earlier in the thread, surely he WOULD be playing Ade to get our money's worth out of him?
No. Ade pissed off Levy by not going to the club that Levy wanted and Levy personally blanked the move Ade wanted. Levy showed with BAE that if you piss him off he does not forgive.
But 225 made a great point that if it was not for Ade's goals we would not even be in this competition at all. So let's all join in with a huge cheer for Ade now!!!!!!!!!!
Back to reality-he ain't playing and that's the end of it. I fervently hope that Lamela and Soldado do well tonight and score goals.
Incidentally I only just had a look and the kick off is 6pm. I don't think I was the only one who thought it was an 8pm ko.

No. I just think he is better than Soldado. He was our top scorer last season and the season before last.
Season before last, our top striker(scoring wise) was Defoe. Our top scorer was Bale. You mean 3 seasons ago. Harry's final year.

Also, Bobby scored in the first leg.

I think its terrible the way Poch is marginalising Brad....has he upset Levy or something?

Nope, guilty of that myself. Will miss the first half because I agreed to stay a little later in work today. Was gonna dander home, pick up a few beer on the way. Looked at the kick off time this morning. I'll be lucky to make it home for half time.

I'm a fucking idiot.

I dont know how many years we have played in EL, but its fucking amazing people haven't noticed the early ko times of some legs in this comp. I'm in Asia and I know exactly when it kicks off here our time.

Think it's 8 out of the last 9 years in the EL/UEFA Cup. Really do take it for granted now don't we. I remember it was such a big deal back in 2005-06 that the Review of the Season DVD was called 'The Road to Europe'.

1999, I remember being getting so excited at the end of the season as a 10 year old while our players paraded with 'European tour' banners.

Lost to fucking Kaiserslautern in November.

Piss take.

Might not have been as quick or consistent as we'd have liked, but we've come a long way...

Looking forward to the game, I think we were unlucky against them in the home leg, hopefully we'll have a bit more luck this game.

It would be a nightmare if it goes to extra time but we are Tottenham so there's a good chance this will happen.

I would play Soldado up front, and play a spine of Lloris, Fazio, Vertonghen, Stambouli, Bentaleb, Lamela and Soldado.

Then play some fringe players on the flanks, I wouldn't play Paulinho as I don't see what he offers in an attacking three and is too lightweight for central midfield.

I'd play Walker at RB as if we're honest there isn't anyone else and Davies at LB to give Rose a rest for the final.

I'd play Chadli and Townsend on the flanks, to offer us a goal threat and pace.

I'd play Lamela in the No10 role as he plays well with Soldado and think they could do well and being back in Italy I think Lamela may wanting to prove something.
