Seeing a lot of love for Carrick, think it would be a great idea for the reasons already given the main one being his potential to mentor our younger players whilst not acting as a roadblock to their careers.

He turns 34 next week, would be good to see him get a years playing contract then see if he wants to do his coaching badges (at the best training facility in the country) :)

DM - James McCarthy
LWF/ST - Saido Berahino
CF - Islam Slimani

Slimani's a great shout if we buy a centre forward and a wider forward/winger, from what I've seen of him he works his arse off!

DM: Carrick - Experienced, easily slots in and would help our young midfielders.
ST: Dzeko - Premier League experience, different player to Kane and has a strong Premier League record (and would be no more expensive than Adebayor)
Wildcard: Draxler - Surprise player, could be another Eriksen or Holtby... Bags of potential

Whatever happened to that guy?

18 months or so ago he was the talk of the town, with the Goons reportedly bidding £35m for him or something.

Now, nothing. Not heard even a whisper of him moving this summer.

Bad 14/15 season?

Not who my ideal signings would be but based on ITK/Links/who has been ruled out already, I believe these would fill the gaps in our squad of: striking and wing cover, pace and a defensive minded CM with good distribution.:

N'jie/Werner
Berahino
Kramer

Yep, the same as me, although I wouldn't mind this either:

McCarthy
Manu/Ntep
Werner

Like those. How much do you think we'd need to spend to get those three?

I guess it depends how much of the deadwood we sell but I'd really hope we could stretch to about £40-50m combined for the final 3 transfers. It's what we need to spend to properly improve the first team IMO, with the options left on the market.

We've also recouped more than we've spent already this summer and with the more expensive sales hopefully to come (Chiriches/Lennon/Townsend/Dembele/Soldado - and obviously Ade's wages) if I was Poch I'd want that money invested into the first team at the very least, plus a bit more if it can secure us some genuine first team players.

I know every manager says he needs 3 more players, but genuinely this time it looks very accurate! :)

He was in and out of the team last season (so i understand) but he's only 21 and his stock may well have fallen meaning he could cost less than 10 million now

Defensive Midfielder: Maxime Gonalons. He's a great defensive midfielder who has experience, but isn't too old. I feel like he could really solidify our midfield and protect the defence. We also need a new Frenchman to keep Lloris company.

Centre Forward: Saido Berahino. He reminds me of a young Defoe, with his pace and shooting. He's also played with Kane before. He could play either up front or on the left wing, so we'd be able to give him playing time to make sure he develops to reach his potential.

Wildcard: Alexandre Pato. He was one of the top strikers in Europe before injuries derailed his career. However, he's still got all that talent and is only 25. Our injury record is great, so I think he's worth the gamble. He's quick, skilled, a good finisher, and can play either up front or on the wing.

We should be going all out for a striker, Julian Draxler and Kramer. Them two are excellent already and both so young.

DM - Christoph Kramer
A beast of a player, apparently Bayer 04 want roughly €15-€20 for him, would be all over that like a tramp on chips, would be an instant team improvement, a disciplined DM with a workrate beyond many I've seen.

WF/ST - Heung Min Son
Another dream signing, 2-footed and can play anywhere along a wide front 3. Would be great for out new-found Asian popularity and has a good scoring record for a wide player, very young and also works very hard.

Wildcards
This was a hard call as there are a lot of good young options, particularly forwards that I thought of...

Timo Werner - Pacey and young with potential to reach Reus-levels of quality I think, a real star for the future and would be a great acquisition.

Clinton N'Jié - Another one similar to Werner, could become an absolute star, can play wide or up front, a very good prospect.

Alexandre Pato - This truly is a wildcard. Was a world class player at AC and unfortunately hit some injury snags, but he has been averaging 30+ appearances for the last couple of seasons so he looks to be over it. Is pacey and skilful and good operate that WF/ST role. If the price was right, would be a good buy.

Obbi Oulare - Loved the look of this guy when we were interested a couple of months back. Has the look of Benteke and Lukaku but if we can pick him up cheaply before he becomes a superstar, could be a wonderful player, with a potentially massive resale value (if we are looking financially)

Need at least 2 striker/wingers

Berahino, Werner (or Son)

If we get a CM/DM any of Kramer, Carrick, Cambiasso or Motta

Carrick - don't see any way Manu sell him given how well he played last year.

As others have said given the clear out we are undertaking we should aim for real quality not the mediocrity of Summer 2014. We also can't lose our nerve because of Summer 2013, we need to be bold.

DM - William Carvalho, yes he's out for 3 months but that is the only reason we might be able to buy him. Already one of the best in Europe in his position and has the potential to be world class up there with Pogba.

CF/WF - Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, unlikely Dortmund sell but he is the perfect hybrid player that can play in place of Kane when required and play in the 3 behind the rest of the time.

Wildcard - Adnan Januzaj, having a tough time and not sure LvG is the type of manager to bring the best out of him, Poch on the other hand probably is.
