This might turn out another Moutinho.... Difficult and complex.
Nothing too complicated about this one. No third party involved. It's rather simple. Would Madrid sell him to us at a deep discount price? That is the question.

Never should have moved to Real, but how could you say no. I thought he played well during the middle part of last season, but then lost his place.
Lovely player who could control the tempo of our play.

The fact that its Madrid and we need a CDM and that we are Spurs is reason enough that this won't happen.

I know nothing about him as a player but I do remember the ridiculously massive hype that surrounded him at Real Sociedad and his transfer to Real Madrid. I highly doubt that a club like Real Madrid that like the galacticos would pay 30m Euros for a 22/23 year old Spanish midfielder if he wasn't a seriously good player. I'd also be hesitant in paying too much attention to Real Madrid's fans assessment of him as a player there either; some of them clamour for Bale to be sold, I'm not sure how good their judgement is of a player that they don't like.

This would be a real coup for us if we sign him. He's exactly what we need. Can tackle, can pass and has played amongst winners.

I know it's typical Spurs fan negativity, which is such a shame, but I can't help feel that we'd get gazumped. Arsenal have been crying out for a player like him for ages, he's basically an upgrade to Arteta.

You know that I am making fun of our transfer team right.... Lol.

That's their famous excuse.

I saw him play live a little in the Audi Cup and he was decent
It was a 30min cameo in a slow paced friendly and he didn't shine not do much wrong
That may be because we did very little to attack and in fact it was Isco, Jesse and Rodriguez who stood out head and shoulders for them whilst it was Dele Alli for us
But he had a good reputation before signing for RM

He's not really the type of player that creates OMG highlight reels on Youtube, difficult to fully evaluate for those that haven't really seen him play full matches.

I think he meant complications with the fax machine.

This is hIgh risk because the transfer fee and wages will be stellar. We won't get any discount from the so-called Special Relationship with Real Madrid, and there'll be lots of clubs in for him so there's no need for Illarra or his agent to compromise on salary.

I've watched him both at Sociedad and for the Spanish U21s in their victorious 2013 campaign. He was the heartbeat of the team and got his big move to Real Madrid.

I have to say that at Real Madrid he's struggled to get a run of games, and never looked confident or "in rhythm". This is probably partly due to the fact that he's always had top class players ahead of him in the pecking order - be that Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric (once he settled), now Toni Kroos. Khedira and Angel DiMaria (when Ancelotti was experimenting) were picked in midfield ahead of him at various times.

But with a run of games he could easily get that confidence back.

Illarra is a near perfect fit for a Poch CM, so I'm sure we're all over this. And I'm sure he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet, with Bentaleb and Mason competing for the other CM position, plus Alli rotating etc. The risk is that Schneiderlin already knows the PL, and Illarra would have to adapt to the pace and physicality of the English game.

If we get him and he settles, he could be a Spanish Carrick.

We know last summer it appears that Poch's first choices were Schneiderlin and Musacchio, and we ended up with Stambouli and Fazio.

Let's hope we can get this done. He's a classy enough player, and young enough, for Levy to go all in.

But is he an upgrade on Coquelin in Wengers mind.

its high time we cashed in on our special relationship with RM. I know they took modric and bale off us, but we did get vDv.

if anything at all, I can't imagine it being more than a year long loan with a potential option to buy
