As I said, the Bild article got his £3m 'market value' from Transfermarktweb and it meant nothing.

Tottenham target Jeremy Toljan valued around £13m by Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim value Tottenham target Jeremy Toljan in the region of £13m (€15m), Sky Sports News understands.

The 22-year-old Germany U21 right-back is of interest to Spurs as they look to replace Kyle Walker.

Toljan has just a year left on his current contract but Hoffenheim are understood to value him just a few million less than defender Niklas Sule, whom they recently sold to Bayern Munch for £17m.

Spurs are yet to make an official approach for Toljan but Hoffenheim have had solid enquiries from clubs in Spain and Italy, according to Sky sources.

Toljan impressed for Germany's U21s as they won the recent European Championships in Poland, and he has made 54 Bundesliga appearances and scored two goals.

He can also play at left-back and fits Mauricio Pochettino's profile for a fast, attacking full-back that can cross the ball well, and is being considered after they cooled their interest in Porto's Ricardo Pereira.

The Portuguese club have indicated to potential buying clubs that they may have to pay Pereira's full £22m release clause, after previously showing a willingness to negotiate a lower fee.

Tottenham are yet to make a signing this summer but hope to add a new attacking-midfielder, with interest in Everton's Ross Barkley, Leicester's Demarai Gray and Bournemouth's Josh King.

Me: In this market that is not a bad amount for a player who can potentially be a future star and fill multiple depth slots in our team.
Also Me: Levy's never going to pay that and will wait until deadline day so it's best to move on now before I talk myself into it.

I reckon the choice is between KWP being promoted or Toljan. I reckon as soon as the tour is finished Poch will either back KWP or go with Toljan.

Disappointing imo. Was hoping for a more experienced RB.

So does this heat up after Trippier being on crutches? Is he good enough to spot right in fairly early if Trippier is out for an extended period?

I don't really see it making much difference. Either KWP is up to it or he's not and that's a decision which should have been made some time ago. The only real factor is whether we need somebody in before the season starts if Trippier's injury is that bad.

don't really see it making a difference at all...poch will just move positions to compensate like Dier at RB , or Son , hes back next week... just don't get carried away thinking this puts spurs in spending mode, ...maybe yes maybe no, as fans we gotta be ready for anything

Well, Toljan has played over 50 senior games for Hoffenhem and won u21 Euros with Germany this year. Plus, he is both footed and can play LB too.

As for me, he is a perfect player for us.
if we were going to get an RB we should of moved already in the market as they would of anticipated all eventuality's ... hopefully they will

Absolute poppycock, considering the full back position is crucial in our game the thought of Poch only wanting 1 natural RB is unfathomable.

I really hope this is the guy we opt for.

Whilst KWP is looking good it's still a risk not to enter the market now with Trippier's injury. I think we may see how he gets on in our opening games before making any decisions on that. I hope we've got irons in the fire ready to press ahead with should we need to buy.

my point was, its unreasonable to assume now we have an injury they go and buy an RB as if they make decisions of the hoof.. they plan everything with taking these events into account ...if they were in the market for an RB sure well find out soon enough , but it wont be as a result trips injury they say oh we need to buy an RB

The manager himself has said that KWP is promising but not ready to be RB week in week out.

way our defence works together any addition is a risk and will take time to fit in

its why i think kwp would still be a better option than someone like Troljan as he has been training with the guys

I would be suprised if Hoffenheim were prepared to sell until after their Champions League qualifying matches against Liverpool.

If that's correct, Toljan would not be available for transfer until the last week of August, and certainly not to provide short term cover for Trippier.
