We just can't afford Bale it's that simple. Paying Bale £250k a week and huge transfer fee just wouldn't work.
Way beyond us unfortunately !!

Do they still owe us any money on the original transfer? If they still owed us say £30m then that would offset the fee to say £56m which is much more realistic...

Half the season we'd be paying him to recover from injury.

Then people will start talking about his dog, his brother, and his drug problems.

Would obviously be the biggest signing in the clubs history bringing Bale back.
Just imagine it!!...
Not ever happening unfortunately.

No they've paid it all off, I think about a year ago or maybe two. This deal is never happening and the thread should be locked

So I frantically scroll through this thread fully expecting to see sweet blue font proffering some tantalising titbits; surely, sweet gentle Jesus, that must be the only reason for its recent manic activity.

How fucking wrong I was, you shitters

If you were Levy though, you'd definitely exercise the option to match a bid, wouldn't you? Then just piss around until deadline day and pull out, if nothing else it'll annoy Maureen.

And pay him with what? Its either magic beans or a stake in the club. Then when we do get him, what do we do when Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Toby, Lloris, Rose, Son, Dier, Wanyama etc want a pay rise?

If he doesn't start in the final today there is going to be a media shit storm. Can guarantee a picture of him hugging Jose both with big smiles on their face.

Rumour is he's on the bench?

Not 100% fit.

If he misses out all together we may as well get ready for media farce that will force him to united.

Actually can we just lock this thread before we end up making ourselves look silly when he joins one of our rivals?

Told not coming back, not going to Yanited.

From a good source.

Can confirm this is true united have wanted him for ages, Bale believe it or not, actually has always wanted to play for Madrid it's why he's trying so hard to make it work out there at the moment.

Only thing I know is Bale wants his children to speak Welsh, but I assume even living in Madrid he could afford a welsh speaking tutor our there for Alba anyways.

He will be back one day on these shores but I can not see it being this season, although if he does come back I can see him in a united shirt

Strange as IIRC Bale doesn't speak Welsh himself, although I might have that wrong.

We've recouped 70m approx in fees this summer with Walker, Fazio, Njie and Bentaleb. We add to this by selling Janssen for 18m to Marseille. That pays Bale fee. No nett spend. We offer 120k a week with the remaining 120k...ish performance related at end of season. Win league, win cup, chmp lge qualification, amount of goals etc.

Bale could effectively pay for himself with increased exposure, shirt sales and winning trophies!

I know I shouldn't but I do feel this could be done, if Levy wants to do it badly enough.

Do you know if we have a percentage sell on clause with Bale?

Fair enough, thanks Trix.

I'm happy as long as he's not going to Utd and it still leaves it open for us to try and get him next summer as per the "original plan":p

Nike get money from shirt sales hence why they pay big money in the first place . Anything spurs receive would be unsubstantial.

Also fuck bale, he left like a bitch, heavily injury prone and is past his prime. Perfect for short term Jose

United can offer him up to £300K a week that's where the story ends. This is probably Bale's last big contract, he's not going to be conviced by add ons and performances based pay? Especially with his injury problems. It's simply not viable.

Chelsea want him, but I expect him to stay at madrid.

Bale does not, his family although do as does Emma I think, hes big on welsh heritage and doing things for Wales.

He's opening up quite a few bars around the country here and he's also fronting the chwarae (play in welsh) movement.
