I'm sorry, how some of you find this "bizarre" is beyond me.
Irrespective of your views on the Monarchy, of which this is absolutely NOT the place to air them, the Head of State has died after a 70 year reign. That is a HUGE historical deal.
I actually think other events not being cancelled this weekend is slightly disrespectful.
In the grand scheme of life, your train ticket doesn't really matter and this has been the plan since the 1960's, whenever this were to happen. The fact her Grandson is the President of the Football Association aswell means I do not think they had much choice.
I'm disappointed its cancelled, but if you can't respect WHY it's been cancelled then you need to take a little look at yourself. If you are not even from this country and are moaning about it being cancelled, go and support Bayern Munich
I'm not getting worked up, I'm delightedCan't help but think everyone is getting a bit worked up about this cancellation tbh. Its not in our control (unlike the goons and the covid delay) and doesn't do us a disservice really - we won't have less time to recover for the rescheduled match (hopefully more time) and some extra rest and time on the training field is probably needed with the recent displays.
In relation to the wider point on whether sporting events should be cancelled, there is mix of views and no one can claim most football fans agree with the postponement or absolutely disagree with it. This type of talk has crept into all our discussions (wider the SC) too much recently. No one represents my view so I find it frustrating that people speak on behalf of a group I am in.
I assume most of you disagreeing have some sort of financial loss coming because this game has been called off. I get why you are angry, but if you could explain why it should not have been called off please enlighten me
have you seen how the parents behave?Does kid's football require a police presence as well?
That's assuming next weekend's fixtures go ahead. There's a pretty good chance that our next Premier League match will actually be on Oct 1st at The Emirates.i believe the postponement means Spurs have a better chance of achieving our best ever start to a premier league season if we beat Leiceter next. Evey cloud

Arsenal away next
I can't see next weekends games going ahead either, think they were always more likely to be postponed than this weekends round of fixtures, security will be mental id imagine.I think the funeral will be on Monday, what that means for sport on the Saturday/Sunday, I have no idea.
I guess it'll all become clearer once they announce the date.I can't see next weekends games going ahead either, think they were always more likely to be postponed than this weekends round of fixtures, security will be mental id imagine.
Every part of the season is key but undoubtedly there is much more pressure at the end of a season with teams knowing what’s on the line. For example if we need just a draw against city to secure top 4 but city need a win to win the league, that would be a difficult situation for us.The end of the season is no more key than now. Lose to City and Sporting could ruin the end of the season for us.
Conte didn't want this schedule so according to him it's a con not a pro, and therefore for him postponement is surely best
If it isn't, why we was he moaning so much
We may even have January recruitments, plus players like Spence improving by that point. There are pros and cons to it. But it is what it is now. We don't know when they'll be played, but we could be in a better place going into it so who knows.Every part of the season is key but undoubtedly there is much more pressure at the end of a season with teams knowing what’s on the line. But really, for me, it’s more to do with the congestion. Looks like the Leicester game will be postponed which means 2 league games to make up god knows when so it just seems we’re moving one congested period to another later down the line. I also feel now is a better time to play City
You're right though, there’s obvious short term benefits to us having a rest this weekend. Hopefully it works out in the long run.
