Thing is Pep didn’t even outclass us in the 2nd it was just individual error after individual error. I’d accept if it was some sort of tactical masterclass from a GOAT tier manager but it wasn’t. Lloris fucked up twice, Perisic twice, and Lenglet had the biggest howler of the year for the 4th. Sigh.

Son is terrible right now. However has Richarlison even shown anything that warrants a start?

compared to son’s current form yes, absolutely Richarlison has shown enough to start. Jesus, just closing people down and playing like he fucking wants it is better than the passenger we currently have. As mentioned by other posters players weren’t even looking to play son in today as he’s so poor

Two goals early then a complete shambles at LB and 2 subsequent keeper errors to top it off. It doesn't matter who the manager is right now they aren't saving this defence. We need new defenders and a goalkeeper regardless. My biggest issue with Conte is that he won't sub son but even so no substitute is making up for that travesty at the back.

We fell apart
But fine margins
Persic scores and the headlines are different
Don't think we are shit.
We just have quite a few really poor players who let us down consistently.

Lloris is the biggest problem. His distribution puts us under pressure all the time, he has no command of his area.

If he's going for the ball, he has to get it. He didn't and that allows city to get a quick goal in the 2nd half.

That puts us massively on the back foot. At 2-0 you need to let the game drift for a while. Not give away weak goals.

Also beaten at the near post ?

Looking on the bright side of life we didn't do Arse any favours , have just put Man C , Chelsea and WHU on TE , not a great seat but hope some mug will buy.

It's just embarrassing how we caved in from the 1st half.

I'm sure Conte must be on the brink not to see how Lloris is so fallible and how Son is so off it then not to do anything! Davies/Dier/Lenglet my god so riddled with errors! Makes you wonder if he is saying to Levy pull the trigger I just want out. His communication lately certainly gives that impression.

The only comfort you take from this is Citeh will challenge Woolwich but more alarming to me is how we are sliding down the table and into the bad habits associated with the mid-table/relegation haunted teams of yester year. We are equal to only mid table teams and obscurity seems to be well on the horizon it's horrible.

How have we gone from one of the best defences in the league with Vertonghen, Alderweireld, rose and Walker with decent back ups in trippier and Davies to this?

I struggle so much with how we operate. We don’t want to buy “ready made” stars but we don’t invest in a quality youth and scouting system. We flit from manager to manager wasting money on paying contracts off or buying players that just aren’t good enough and then keeping hold of them.

I just don't know what else to say tbh.

Will start with the positives.....

- Romero is a very good defender and the only player good enough defensively moving forward if we want to actually achieve something.

- Bentancur was very good and it's fantastic to have him back.

- Kulusevski caused them plenty of problems and again is finding some form again following his injury.

Now the negatives....

- Lloris as we already knew is gone, but Forster is hardly an upgrade so we are fucked for the rest of the season.

- Every other defender we have just aren't good enough. They just create constant panic and I cannot believe just how many defensive errors there are every single fucking game. Let's hope there is something in this takeover/investment because we need a new RB and two new CBs at the very least.

- Son I'm afraid is gone, it's extremely sad but I just don't see how he turns this around. He needs to be dropped for Richarlison.

It's an extremely sad time to support Spurs right now. Our neighbours are flying and we are self-imploding. Please please please let this takeover/investment happen. Just bloody pay Gvardiols release clause and get Porro/Zaniolo in. We are now almost 2/3 of the way through the month with no incomings and no outgoings. It's a sad state of affairs to feel done with the PL in January after only 20 games but unless something significant happens very soon, I fear it's going to be a very toxic few months at the club.
